disable power via hdmi programatically?

Post by qlex »

I'm looking for a way to block power (5v) over hdmi from odroid c2 ?

Our C2 are going mad and shutting down. We're using one odroid to power to screens over powered hdmi splitter.

Is there a way to programatically or via settings, disable that power on hdmi ports?

I found something like:
echo 0 > /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/phy
echo 1 > /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/phy

We're using android 6.

Just for completeness, I'll repeat my answer here.

As far as can understand from the schematic, there is no software way of achieving this. +5V on HDMI is fed directly from global +5V node, separated only by U8, a hot swap controller, that limits output current, and blocks input current.

The last resort is to remove U8 altogether.
