Just fyi, PortMaster currently has support for over 40 ports. Most if not all should be compatible with RetroOZ. Below is the current list of supported ports as of the day and time of this post:

Hi, I wanted to ask if there's a way to change the default emulator from Neko II to Neko II Kai, Neko II rarely works and the Kai version works perfectly opening the roms directly from retroarch, from ES I only get Default if I try to select an emulator/core from the game metadata menu, I got the same behavior for mame 2010/2003. I also tried deleting the non kai emulator but that results in games not opening from ES.

Thanks for all the work you all do on this excelent piece of SW
Hi, I think you need to modify es_systems.cfg for this. For example, I have included some extra cores for the games in the mame2003 folder. After this, in ES under emulator settings, choose retroarch instead of auto and then you can choose the desired core. If you need help with modifying the systems.cfg just let me know.

Hey, I'm having trouble updating to 0.51.

I flashed a brand new image from the top link on the main page (a 0.50 image) a few days ago. Everything ran great!

When I try to apply the 0.51 update as instructed, it looks like it's going through the update process, but starts spitting out errors and kicks me back to the menus again.

If I try to install the update again, I keep getting an error that says:
The required 0.50 Final Update has not been applied.

Please install the final 0.50 update before 0.51.

viewtopic.php?p=329269#p329269
If you follow that link, it leads you back to the 0.48 update. If you try to install that, it says you need to go to a page for the final 0.47 update, which leads you back to the main page, and as of 9/13, shows the the full image for 0.51.

I'm really confused. Did I do something wrong when I first installed the 0.50 image that was on page 01 a few days ago? I'm starting from scratch again and downloading and flashing the 0.51 image and won't touch it again until I figure out what I did wrong. Thanks in advance for any help!

Just download the main 0.51 image and flash it. Boot up the first time and then you copy just the Sep. 11 0.51 update to the ports directory and run that, that's it. So yes, I think the main image was updated so you don't need any other incremental updates.

Just to make sure I'm clear: You want me to go to the first page and flash the current full image of 0.51 (already did that), then download the incremental 0.51 update, load that into the Ports directory, then run that update as well?

You should be just flashing the full 0.51 image on page one. Is there a problem with the full image?

Hi, I was modifying the wrong file, thanks for the tip, now I'm able to open NP2Kai as default emulator for PC98, the only problem that I can't fix is the Emulator selection for the System is not showing in the ES config and in the Metadata configuration of particular games.

I just setup my RGB10 Max with RetroOZ, and as I thought it was built as sort of a fork of ArkOS, I copied all games from my RG351P with ArkOS, and also copied everything from the BIOS folder right over.

So far everything works, with the exception of Scummvm. When I try to launch the menu, with the "menu.scummvm" file, it just loops back to ES. If I try to launch any of the games, it does the same.

I realized that there is a scummvm.ini file in the BIOS folder that, I copied over from ArkOS, that had incorrect folder locations. I fixed those so they appear to point to the correct locations, but it did not fix it. Is my only option to reflash the image, and start again to get my Scummvm working as it should?
Could you not flash to another card to get the files you need then copy them to the first card
Thanks for your reply :)

I actually just got a new SD card today, and flashed the RetroOZ image that Russ at Retro Game Corp said to use for the RGB10 Max. Right after the SD card was flashed, and right after inserting into the handheld to resize the partition, I put the Scummvm games on it (Folders named "[gamename].scummvm") and it still did not load any games. So it has nothing to do with the files that I copied over from my RG351P, it just doesn't work from the beginning.

@southoz Can you please add support for USB-C Headphones? (This should enable USB-C Bluetooth headphones to work since that USB-C audio adapter is just routing the audio from USB-C to BT onboard the adapter)

So it has nothing to do with the files that I copied over from my RG351P, it just doesn't work from the beginning.
you doing it all wrong.
first step I highly recommend goto page 1 download the latest 0.51 not the update full iso image.
2nd step it should automatic resize the partion after you installed fresh from SD Card on full image of 0.51

3rd step
don't renamed Scummvm games as in folder gamename.scummvm instead put into summvm folder then keep exact name of the game name on folder it should lunch it after you unzip the game from .zip file.

I hope this method works out for you.

Hey guys,

I am using my Powkiddy RGB10 Max with the recent RetroOZ Version (0.51)

Unfortunately, the internal Wifi is not working. I can choose my Network and add the Password, but it do not activate.

Am I the only one? Is there any solution?

Wifi with EmuELEC is working fine on the same device.

Thanks for all the updates, but when trying this one, it just exits ES and then restarts. I was on 2.10.11 and have applied updates without issues before.
I'm stuck on 2.10.11.

I guess I will try and copy manually.

Uncompress the update file and copy the files on /roms/ports.

Then, in the device go to Ports an execute the update file.

Ensure to apply the 2.10.11.0 update before the 2.10.12.0 update.

Bring on .52 please, Updating ES from 2.10.8.1 to 2.10.12 on all my handhelds kinda sucks. I guess I have too many handhelds :) I'm also looking at what else it will bring. Retro-OZ is by far my favorite OS for retro handhelds, thanks all who are involved, much appreciated!

Just figured out I can load all updates at once and perform 1 update at a time, I was before loading 1 at a time, rebooting, shutdown, repeat. Much easier now

Has anyone else had issues getting PC Engine CD or Turbo Grafx 16 CD games playing? I haven't been able to get them to work on any version of Retro Oz. I have tried all of the different BIOS files, syscard1,2 and 3 (both US and Japan) The most I can get them to do is load up to the CD system BIOS screen than says "Press Run to Start" and after I press the Run button it changes to "Please Wait" and it freezes there. Anyone have any ideas?

PCEngine CD and TurboGrafx CD both work fine for me and always have. What is the MD5 of your syscard3.pce?
Mine is 1E47A1780AAA7E277A3896C1BA00E317
The one RetroPie suggests is 38179DF8F4AC870017DB21EBCBF53114. So it may be more forgiving than other emulators so that may not be the problem.
Batrocera says 38179df8f4ac870017db21ebcbf53114 too. No idea why mine works then ha ha. Sorry for ultimately being of no help other than to say it works for me.

I'll have to get back with all of the details later, but I believe the game files are .bin and .cue. I may have some games in other formats that I can try.

Unzip that to your directory with your .bin and .cue files and it will spit out CHDs of them. If you don't want to use the chdman.exe from the zip it's included in the official MAME download too. The bat just passes the command line arguments to chdman for all .bin .cue combos it finds.

Ok, so it turns out that most of my TG16 CD games were in the .cue & .iso format. The ones that are .bin & .cue work just fine.

Maybe its just the Duckstation core, but Xenogears lags a lot when there is a lot of action on the screen. The other default psx core the sound doesn't play correctly. Try that I might, nothing I do improves the performance. Any ideas how to improve the performance?

I have no issue with the default PCSX Rearmed core playing Xenogears. Although I was only at the beginning scene. Not sure how far in I'm supposed to have the sound issue you experienced.

The music for the first village sounded off. For Duckstation I switched from Vulkan rendering to opengl and it increased the performance a lot but when a lot of particle effects are on screen, it still slows down a bit. But I'm too far in the game now for me to want to go back and try PCSX Rearmed.

On another note, does RetroOZ use the Panfrost mali drivers?
