Compatible WIFI dongles for Odroid Super

Post by yoh6781 »

Any list of compatible wifi dongles for the OGS? I've tried RTL8188EU and it didn't work.

I am currently using Batocera and I'm at the latest beta

So far I've found one that works but I'm looking for a nano style wifi dongle because the D-Link is a kind of big

WHAT WORKS:
D-Link DWA-125 ver. A1

Odroid go super linux kernel has a limited support for usb wifi dongles. You can reconfigure the linux kernel to enable support for more usb dongles and recompile it and reinstall it. You can follow https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid_go_advance/build_kernel to recompile the kernel and https://developer.toradex.com/knowledge ... el-support for enabling support for more wifi dongles.

I have two of the official 5ghz dongles that Hardkernel sells and they work beautifully, even with Moonlight gamestreaming using TheRA (even if I had to recompile Moonlight to fix a screen tearing issue). I'm hoping someone might find a decent way to build wifi into the OGS without having to hackjob the USB port. I'm considering doing this and picking up a nano USB hub just so I can free up the USB port and give myself a 'clean look' unit, but if someone has a easier, more viable solution for internalizing a 5ghz wifi dongle that would be amazing.

Just used the DLink DWA171 rev C without any problem (8821cu module after mode switch).

Not wifi but the Linksys USB3GIGV1 ethernet wire adapter works also fine.

It seems to have a MT7610U chipset which is not supported in the stock kernel.

I've also had good luck with these two adapters:

The Wise Tiger 2.4/5ghz wifi adapter - Uses RTL8811CU : https://www.amazon.ca/WISE-TIGER-WT-900 ... 325&sr=8-9

and also the Plugable Wireless 2.4ghz Wireless Adapter - Uses RTL8188EUS (Works really well with Moonlight Streaming)
