Linux from Scratch on ODROID N2/C4

Post by trwn2p »

Here's the book I use and helped create over the last 18 months. Both systemd and sysv books are available.
Takes a few days to get done for a new builder but it's fun and educational. Help is available on #lfs-support - Libera.

See the finished KDE here: viewtopic.php?f=176&p=331759#p331759

Thanks! It's a great resource!

I'm currently trying to "teach old dogs new tricks" - I have a bunch of old servers at work (RHEL4, kernel 2.6.9, GLIBC 2.3) that I want to be able to run borg-backup (which is a python3 program). I ended up compiling gcc-4.3, perl-5.34 in order to compile openssl-1.1k and python3 so that I could install borg-backup.

So, understanding how the basic components work is a good skill to have.

I always wanted to do LFS but at the time Gentoo had just came out and I got all the benefits of building my system with system specific optimizations but with the excellent package manager portage.

LFS is a great way to learn however, when finished you will fully understand how to manage your system.
