Will there be a successor to the N2+?

Post by Silver_Is_Money »

Rather than simply re-introduce sales of the N2+, why not introduce an improved successor to it? One with onboard WiFi and Bluetooth, decent storage media read and write speeds that are competitive with the latest SBC competition, a faster CPU (or higher clock speed), M.2, independent USB 3 slots, and 8GB of DDR4 RAM?

Is an N2+ successor in the works, and if so, when might it become available?

We have no plan at this moment.

Not all users need the wireless connectivity.
Additionally, USB 2.0 wireless adapters are 1.5 ~ 2 times faster than SDIO in many cases.

Due to the S922X SoC hardware limitation, your other expectations are not feasible.
Read the SoC datasheet.

I don’t think you understand how SoCs work.

I actually prefer to connect whatever I need to my board, rather than expecting WiFi/BT, storage and whatnot to just be there.

wifi, bltooth & any wireless is unwanted by many in the know.

There are security risks and interference issues also involved.

finally there are always newer and faster options so Odroid is doing a great job
compared to rasberry and others offering wireless inbuilt when options
and spectrums are always changing. Simpler board allows better reliability as well.

future versions of chips will follow Apples disruptor designs with bigger L1 cache
