Here is the discussion on the EmuELEC discord if you're on there: https://discord.com/channels/5701316312 ... 3777391647

Here are the links Christian provided to the EmuELEC team:
It's this one linked from their repo on their wiki. https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/com ... ba2a0bfa49
Link to their driver blobs are in here: https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid_go_advan ... _on_rk3326

I have no idea if that's what RetroOZ is missing though, I don't even know the difference between SDL and GLES2
Please don't waste your time to test the vulkan. There were too many missing extensions and there is no more implementation activities from Rockchip. We reverted the relevant patches.

RTCW How To on RetroOZ on the Odroid Go Super

Download JohnnyonFlame’s handheld-iortcw found here:
https://github.com/JohnnyonFlame/handhe ... g/0.2-beta

Unzip contents of “arkos-iortcw_f7b50105.zip” into your roms/ports folder.

Go to the location of your purchased and installed Windows RTCW game and copy the following files
over to your iortcw's “Main” folder for the single player campaign:
pak0.pk3
sp_pak1.pk3
sp_pak2.pk3
sp_pak3.pk3

Replace contents of “Return to Castle Wolfenstien.sh” with this:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
export SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG="190000004b4800000011000000010000,GO-Super Gamepad,platform:Linux,x:b3,a:b0,b:b3,y:b1,back:b12,guide:b14,start:b13,dpleft:b10,dpdown:b9,dpright:b11,dpup:b8,leftshoulder:b4,lefttrigger:b6,rightshoulder:b5,righttrigger:b7,leftstick:b15,rightstick:b16,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a3,"
/roms/ports/iortcw/iowolfsp.aarch64
Create a autoexec.cfg file with this and save it to the “iortcw/main” folder:

Code: Select all

seta com_hunkmegs "200" //
seta r_fullscreen "1" //
seta r_mode "-1" //
seta r_customwidth "854" //
seta r_customheight "480" //
Probably better way to do some of these things, but that's what worked for me.
Suggestions for more tweaks for the autoexec.cfg welcome as are a better controller scheme for the sh file. Without autoexec file, game will open windowed in a window that only takes up about a 3rd of the screen.

All praise should go to JohnnyonFlame.

Haven’t had a lot of time to play, but biggest issue I’ve run into is that all the in game messages that you find along your way are unreadable.

Is the custom height supposed to be 540 or 480?

I was having similar issues with EmuELEC, I could get audio but no graphics (just a few pixels in the top-right). JohnnyonFlame mentioned that using the latest Vulkan patch in ArkOS ended up having a few GLES2 fixes that made this game possible.

Here is the discussion on the EmuELEC discord if you're on there: https://discord.com/channels/5701316312 ... 3777391647

I rolled out the Vulkan Patch in line with the Kernel change after the bad news from Rockchip, not sure if the GLES fixes are still included. The good news I now have more things to throw at the wall until something sticks!

Lolz I know how you feel, GLES is a subset of OpenGL for embedded systems and SDL is an abstraction layer between the Game and OS for video, controls and audio. Crash wrote his own libraries called libgo2 to replace SDL which is why you have go2 versions of some software for example ppsspp-go2 vs ppsspp.

Converting open-source software to go2 versions will produce the best results however with closed source software like Pico-8 and Shovel Knight you have no option but to use SDL. The included libSDL in the reference image does not include the video functions.

AreaScout has developed a SDL version with video for the OGS viewtopic.php?f=194&t=38045 I have cross-compiled to armhf (32bit) for the 32bit binaries.

Something stuck on the wall - using the old kernel with Vulcan patches in RetroOZ WIP 0.34 with AreaScouts SDL lib cross-compiled for armhf.

To move forward it looks like I will need to fork the kernel from the 3 feb commit, merge back in the changes since the commit and integrate the wireless drivers that were added.

Update: Thanks to the github rebase function I was able to clone the hardkernel kernel and remove the commit that removed the broken Vulkan driver while maintain the overclocking and Sony HID support. https://github.com/southoz/linux/tree/odroidgoA-4.4.y. I Will try and get a 0.45 beta out tomorrow with support for Pico-8 and Shovelknight for testing.

Update 0.45b - Beta as the final release will include the full SDL libraries and possibly Skyscraper after further testing. Thanks to AreaScout for the OGS SDL implementation.
Mega - https://mega.nz/file/o6pHxY6b#UhOGTCtLe ... RGBGGbqr2Q
Onedrive - TBA

- Add PICO-8 (To exit from splore select a downloaded game, press SDL 13, select "Options" and select "Shutdown Pico-8") thanks to onionsaregross aka RetroGameCorps aka work on ArkOS version.
- Add Shovel Knight Treasure Trove thanks to JohnnyonFlame https://github.com/JohnnyonFlame - See Russ's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USL65vAOfbk only adding the shovelknight folder.
- Add additional extensions to es_systems.cfg thanks to CISKO

1. Extract the ZIP file and copy the contents to the /roms/ports folder on the SDCARD.
2. Restart Emulation Station or Reboot
3. From Ports Select UPDATE-WIP-0.45b System Will Restart

Is it possible to reassign the sleep function to the screensaver button?

Also, is Daphne supposed to work?

SouthOZ, random request here, but can you do me a favor and add

Code: Select all

.sh .SH
to the Dreamcast extensions in etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg the next time you push an update? I am working on the ability to implement widescreen hacks for Dreamcast games on the OGS, it's awesome. This will allow me to make a guide for the hacked games to play in RetroRun. Thanks!

Image

Edit: actually, now that I think on it, if it is easy for you to edit the usr/local/bin/dreamcast.sh file to include a call for a widescreen version of RetroRun (/usr/bin/retrorun32 -a 1.78) and have that selectable in the Emulators Settings section for Dreamcast that would be even better. That way I could show users how to add the widescreen patch, and then they could select the Widescreen version of RetroRun from within the menu. Plus then users who want to play RetroRun with squished 16:9 without the hack could also play that way too (lord knows why!). What do you think?

It's a bit different to Arkos to clean up emulationstation I added .daphne to the name of the game .txt file for the directory name eg:

Code: Select all

odroid@retrooz:/roms/daphne/ls -a -l lair.daphne
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 53248 Feb 25 13:59 lair.daphne

Code: Select all

odroid@retrooz:/roms/daphne/lair.daphne$ ls *.txt
lair.txt

Awesome, saw the post on youtube!

I am confused by "This should work for the RGB10 Max as well, as long as it’s running the correct version of RetroOZ.", did Powkiddy literally clone the hardware one for one and put it in a new shell?

It is possible to map it to SDL 12 but I mapped it to SDL 13 to prevent "accidents". https://github.com/southoz/ogage. The USB controller doesn't wake on resume so I never use it.

Always at the first startup it freezes for a few seconds, I notice it in the list of games that the control does not respond, and then it goes well, it is a micro-stop.

About ports, think about Maldita Castilla and AM2R. ;) The same for Videopac system.

Yes, RetroOZ is working on RGB10Max, it is the same

Yep, the only difference between the two is that they labeled their START and SELECT buttons on the bottom, but the top two function keys behave as START + SELECT on their device running RetroOZ. The device also has internal WiFi and clickable analog sticks. I'm still waiting on mine to arrive but I'm sure I'll find other small differences between the two :D

I have this issue as well, but only about 75% of the time. Sometimes it works instantly when browsing files.

I believe it is related to video indexing for the screensaver function, there seems to be a certain number of videos that when hit it stops emulationstation for a few seconds after it starts, I don't see it on the 128GB card but its definitely on the 400GB Cards. If you ssh to the device and start htop you can see one of the emulationstation threads max out the CPU.

Hi! I wanted to congratulate you on your fantastic work with RetroOz, I love it. I wanted to ask how to make pico-8 work, since I put the games in pico-8/carts but no system appears. Could you explain a bit how to do to install, if I need an extra file or something. Thank you.

You need the last beta update.

Then copy the system files inside pico-8 folder and the games inside pico-8/carts.

System files :

lexaloffle-pico-8.png
license.txt
pico-8.txt
pico8
pico8_dyn
pico8.dat

Are you using the Pico-8 folder in /roms/pico-8/, I did initially have one in /roms/ports/pico-8/ which may be confusing, it will be removed in the 0.45 update

Lolz, remembered your request at the last minute and went a bit basic on them. Looks good, can you send/send links to the icon graphics so I can layer them and drop shadow? I will add them in the next release.

We're really trucking with this firmware, thanks to all your hard work. On second thought, I'm going to wait a bit to release my Dreamcast widescreen hack guide until I have the RGB10 Max in hand so I can test with both and show them off in the video. Who knows when that will be, my shipment has been "in the mail" for weeks now. I ended up buying another unit from a different vendor the other day, we'll see which one arrives first :D

I am confused by "This should work for the RGB10 Max as well, as long as it’s running the correct version of RetroOZ.", did Powkiddy literally clone the hardware one for one and put it in a new shell?
This discord message includes a nice diagram showing the difference between OGS and RGBMax10 function button layouts.

Are you using the Pico-8 folder in /roms/pico-8/, I did initially have one in /roms/ports/pico-8/ which may be confusing, it will be removed in the 0.45 update
I reflashed and updated, now works like a charm!

#!/bin/sh
export SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG="190000004b4800000011000000010000,GO-Super Gamepad,platform:Linux,x:b3,a:b0,b:b3,y:b1,back:b12,guide:b14,start:b13,dpleft:b10,dpdown:b9,dpright:b11,dpup:b8,leftshoulder:b4,lefttrigger:b6,rightshoulder:b5,righttrigger:b7,leftstick:b15,rightstick:b16,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a3,"
/roms/ports/iortcw/iowolfsp.aarch64

I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but when I first added rtcw it wouldn't load. Looking in my local install files there was a sp_pak4.pk3 in the installed location, I added that to the main folder in iortcw and it loaded just fine after.

I definitely have sp_pak4.pk3 included in the files, I also don't have the issue with reading text, while it is small it is readable. You can check the note on the wall near the first scientist.

You can see in activated systems in ES options if you have this systems enabled. Reflash maybe can repair, I had a similar problem with pico-8 and this was my solution.

Sure no problems I will add it to the list for both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

yes, it would be a good option

Daphne is working well.
Thanks, yup I was worried it was broken with the update but it is working here.

Daphne.jpg

It's a bit different to Arkos to clean up emulationstation I added .daphne to the name of the game .txt file for the directory name eg:

Code: Select all

odroid@retrooz:/roms/daphne/ls -a -l lair.daphne
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 53248 Feb 25 13:59 lair.daphne

Code: Select all

odroid@retrooz:/roms/daphne/lair.daphne$ ls *.txt
lair.txt

Is it possible to reassign the sleep function to the screensaver button?
It is possible to map it to SDL 12 but I mapped it to SDL 13 to prevent "accidents". https://github.com/southoz/ogage. The USB controller doesn't wake on resume so I never use it.
Yup, works perfectly - entirely on my end. Thank you!

Been focusing on converting Anberports for OGS, while the Games load the issue has always been the oga_control keyboard emulator. The buttons are now working but the analogue sticks are being problematic and just don't work with the current code. You can play AM2R with the d-pad but as soon as you touch the sticks it goes to hell.

Hi!
Thanks for your work :)

Now that I'm playing, you know where the saves are located? And another thing is, is there a way to map the "switch to alternate" to use zoom on the weapons like sniper rifle? To map it to the PAD0_DPAD_UP ? because that is already mapped to the left analog stick.

Thanks!

Reflashing is fairly extreme unless you have made changes and do not know how to fix them. SSH to the device and post the output of ls -a -l /roms/pcengine so I can verify the file extensions, check for and delete es_systems.cfg if it exists in /home/odroid/.emulationstation.

Now that I'm playing, you know where the saves are located? And another thing is, is there a way to map the "switch to alternate" to use zoom on the weapons like sniper rifle? To map it to the PAD0_DPAD_UP ? because that is already mapped to the left analog stick.

Thanks!
The game files are located in /home/odroid/.wolf, the mapping is in autoexec.cfg in the /roms/ports/iortcw/main folder and it should support it it if you know the command. The source is https://github.com/JohnnyonFlame/handheld-iortcw if you find the command and get it working I will add it in the next update :D

Code: Select all

bind PAD0_A "+moveup"
bind PAD0_B "+activate"
bind PAD0_X "weapnext"
bind PAD0_Y "+reload"
bind PAD0_LEFTSHOULDER "+movedown"
bind PAD0_RIGHTSHOULDER "+attack"
bind PAD0_LEFTTRIGGER "+sprint"
bind PAD0_RIGHTTRIGGER "+kick"
bind PAD0_DPAD_UP "+forward"
bind PAD0_DPAD_RIGHT "+leanright"
bind PAD0_DPAD_DOWN "+activate"
bind PAD0_DPAD_LEFT "+leanleft"
bind PAD0_DPAD_UP "+forward"
bind PAD0_LEFTSTICK_LEFT "+moveleft"
bind PAD0_LEFTSTICK_RIGHT "+moveright"
bind PAD0_LEFTSTICK_UP "+forward"
bind PAD0_LEFTSTICK_DOWN "+back"
bind PAD0_RIGHTSTICK_LEFT "+left"
bind PAD0_RIGHTSTICK_RIGHT "+right"
bind PAD0_RIGHTSTICK_UP "+lookup"
bind PAD0_RIGHTSTICK_DOWN "+lookdown"

the ppsspp version is the same as in ArkOS? because I have noticed a lower performance when testing the same games.

about the micro-stop bug,Is it possible to fix it by disabling the screensaver?
From memory, it is Christian's Git with the Screen Size updated to 854x480 as he had hardcoded 480x320. Do you think it might be the resolution difference or maybe ubuntu 19 vs 20? If you get a chance copy the binary from ArkOS and see if you are getting the same performance as ArkOS at 480x320.

I am not sure if it is a bug, if it is the screensaver indexing the video maybe the screensaver developer did not think we would be putting 15000 videos and a low-end android soc :o It seems to trip when you play the first video when browsing games. The CPU on one thread goes to 60% and emulationstation locks up. Whatever it is it definitely become worse the more videos you add. When I get some time I can have a look.

Hi! Now I put some games in pcengine and pcenginecd and it's not showing on the theme...I tried all the themes and no games from those systems...I saw the es_systems.cfg and my extensions are there...you know what am I missing? Thanks!
I think we should check the extension used, and for the CD version, the .chd extensions did not appear in the pcenginecd directory but in the turbografxcd directory. Move them to the directory and watch them if they appear.
Please excuse my English (google translation ...), I am French, and not very good in English technical discussions.

Maldita Castilla Test

Mega - https://mega.nz/file/Bjxz1CyS#4dLvMvs59 ... OymD5xPzp0

1. Install AM2R Test viewtopic.php?p=328623#p328623
2. Extract the ZIP file and copy the contents to the /roms/ports folder on the SDCARD.
3. Restart Emulation Station or Reboot
4. From Ports Select MalditaCastilla System Will Restart

Includes an update of the rg351p-js2xbox to support OGS https://github.com/southoz/RG351P_virtual-gamepad, this version overwrites the rg351_2_xbox functions to allow it to be directly substituted into Anberports. Should support TheRA.

I have mapped L3 and R3 to SDL 16 and 17 rather than 15 and 16 on a temporary basis to support the RGB10-Max until someone can pickup the torch and run with it.
