[MOD CUSTOM] Odroid Go Super (OGS)

Post by Nexus360 »

I present my mod of the Odroid Go Super. ;)

Summary of what I have done to it:

* the two shells of the console are painted inside; the front in white and the back in black.
* Installed two Iphone8 speakers on the edge of the console and with a new connector that is easy to remove and insert, in case you had to disassemble the console. Sounds much better than with the rear speaker that came standard.
* placed two metal heatsinks on the main chips (for future overclocking) and placed so that they do not collide with the cover
* colored function buttons.
* D-pad completely changed from Wii U (now it goes smooth and makes the diagonals perfect).
* Wii U ABXY buttons, as well as the Power button and the F1 and F2 (Select and Start) buttons that stick out a little more, to make them more comfortable or more accessible when pressing them.
* Wii mushroom attached to the left stick and Switch hood attached to the right stick.
* The two conductive rubbers of the D-Pad and ABXY buttons changed to the GameBoy Pocket rubbers, which are a bit softer than the original gray ones.
* And I have put some silicone glue on several pushbuttons to fix them to the board, so they don't come loose / break.

OK, registered for this forum because of this post. First off, that's amazing man, great work. Could you go into a bit more detail on the buttons and the dpad and the joysticks?

For the DPAD I can see that you had to file down the "cross" to make it big enough for the WIiU dpad and that you also swapped the rubbers out for the gameboy pocket. Was that all that was needed was to just file it down until the WiiU one fit or was there more too it? It looks like you cut off the rounded parts of the base plate into more of a diamond shape. I guess the same goes for the ABXY buttons since they look bigger on the top then the bottom.

For the sticks, did you just pull off the old sticks and the new ones snapped in there (WiiU and switch respectively?) or did you need to change out the base too? I was about to order me the OEM Vita sticks but went searching to see if anyone used the switch replacements instead and that brought me here to this work of art.

I've got a chunk of spare GBP parts from my GPi mods, so all I need are the WiiU and switch parts, my Super should get here this weekend and if possible I'd love to get some of these parts here as well to do some of these mods

Wii U buttons are cut and filed down to about 2 millimeters. And then they are simply glued over the original ABXY buttons.

The left mushroom is taken from a Wii (if I remember correctly), and is glued to the stick. Previously, I sanded it a little to make the surface smoother.

The right stick has a switch cover/grip glued on it.

In these two photos you understand what I mean. But... If I don't express myself better, excuse me, but my English is bad.

Curiosities...

the 8bitdo adapter to use bluetooth controls (Pro Controller Switch, Dualshock 4, etc), works in the OGS.

And... test Hand Grip...

a last minute addition or improvement: I have made the R2 and L2 buttons higher, RK2020 style, to make them more accessible. ;)
