Unofficial Volumio build for Odroid C1/C0

Post by jit »

In order to merge benefits of my tiny-ubuntu build in volumio I built a custom volumio for C1 (to update my Odrophile tablet),
I just finished the custom build scripts to make a Volumio install based on my tiny-ubuntu image (should work also with the official hardkernel's Ubuntu 18.04).

The git fork of volumio is here : https://github.com/jit06/Build/
I also released a ready to flasg image : https://github.com/jit06/Build/releases

The build takes a few minutes to run on the C1.

Features should be the same as the original volumio (no guaranty, through).
Main differences are :
  • If using an emmc, any SDCard that is present at boot will be automatically mounted as /mnt/SDCARD
  • USB volumes are "hot mounted" to /mnt/USB when inserted (udev rule)
  • Sdcard and USB are in the MPD's music path, so Volumio can find any supported music format they contain

Updates 2021-05-21:

- Plugins can now be downloaded and installed
- Some base system packages have been upgraded

Don't know where you get your information from, but community support for all Odroid devices remains and versions will even be upgraded to Volumio 3 soon :D
See this link
This includes support for myVolumio with Tidal/Qobuz/HiRes and multiroom support (Volumio 3), which a local build cannot have.

Ho, thanks for the info. I though it was no more supported because there is no more link on the download page. It seems that I did not searched enough.

Well, for now I keep my image as it is faster than the original (faster boot, better response in UI), but don't ask me why ;)

There is nothing wrong with your own builds, I was just making sure people have the correct info.
Not seen a build like yours before, quite a challenge.
There are a number of things that won't work, but as long as you inform people that your's is a clipped version, that would be ok.
