Canonical Ubuntu 20.04 seems not to support the amule-daemon package.

I see, do you think is possible with another OS?

i tried mldonkey-server , installed but i coud not log into the interface neither with telnet nor webinterface, permission denied, i am a linux noob by the way.
downloads.ini was not created so i could not set any setting for allowed ips.

If anyone wants to give it a try:
http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/Quickstart_guide

i used sudo apt install mldonkey-server instead of aptitude install mldonkey-server method of the link if it makes any sense.

You can also take my Debian Buster image: https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/images/testing/
works just as fine:

Code: Select all

$ apt-cache search amule
amule - client for the eD2k and Kad networks, like eMule
amule-common - common files for the rest of aMule packages
amule-daemon - non-graphic version of aMule, a client for the eD2k and Kad networks
amule-gnome-support - ed2k links handling support for GNOME web browsers
amule-utils - utilities for aMule (command-line version)
amule-utils-gui - graphic utilities for aMule
amule-emc - lists ed2k links inside emulecollection files

$ apt-cache search mldonkey
gkrellm-mldonkey - mldonkey plugin for gkrellm2
kmldonkey - advanced GUI for MLDonkey
mldonkey-gui - Graphical frontend for mldonkey based on GTK+
mldonkey-server - Door to the 'donkey' network

Debian Stretch (Debian 9) is the older version of the OS Debian Buster (Debian 10) is the current version of the OS.
Both still have support, but of cause Debian Buster is newer and has newer programs/drivers :)

After opening the amule ports in the router and restarting the HC1 it seems to work i downloaded a file at good speed with kad network. I controll it through amuleGUI program from a Windows machine in the same network.

Now i have to change the hard drive for a bigger one, install samba to share the directories and access the content, let's see how it goes.

I sent you a donation, nice image.

I have problems with the samba shared folders.
I followed the steps in the wiki and everything works, i can see the share from windows and login with credentials.
The problem is i can not write to that folder from windows, with the previous image i could set the permissions from windows.
So, how i can give write access to a windows machine but with a password?
This is my smb.conf:

Code: Select all

[HC1]
comment = NAS
path = /media/nas/hdd1
valid users = myname @mygroup
writable = yes
create mask = 0775
directory mask = 0775
# Tweaks
write cache size = 524288
getwd cache = yes
use sendfile = yes
min receivefile size = 16384
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY
