I tested alpha 0.5 and wifi works fine.

I have this message from Magisk, don't know if it's normal but superuser works fine.

Is there a chance to have bluetooth support?
I tried with an old dongle and it doesn't work.
I will check Magisk issue.
Bluetooth: only BLE compatible dongles are supported, you need enable it from Odroid Settings > Misc section.

Can you completely uninstall Magisk and install latest one via Recovery?

I completely reinstalled this way.
Flashing alpha 0.1 to emmc
Installing Magisk apk, patching boot, root ok
Modifying build.prop for ota update
Updating to alpha 0.5
Installing Magisk the same way, patching boot, but the message appears after reboot. Tried with boot.img from 0.1 or 0.5, same error.
Note that superuser is ok, i can grant apps

I will try this week via recovery

Nice! But does it require wifi on the N2? Or can it be done wired as well? And the wifi - does it need to be Wifi Direct?

I'm having trouble updating to the latest version, downloads fine but doesn't install.
"This feature requires a compatible Recovery or updates will need to be installed manually"
Hitting OK re-starts but doesn't install the update.

Updates worked fine with 17.1

Yes, because Windows also finds WFD via WiFi Direct interface.

I think I read somewhere that there is a variant of the standard where the initial discovery is done via wifi direct, but if wired is available it can do the actual streaming over wired for performance reasons.
I don't know why the standard doesn't work on regular networks - it could have used ssdp or multicast dns to do discovery... A missed opportunity IMHO...

Same thing with a manual update, gets to 20%, reboots and hasn't updated.

that is fantastic. i would be honored to test it for you.
it is for this dongle from ameridroid.
https://ameridroid.com/products/wifi-mo ... lated&fp=3

which happens to be on 3.0 bus. i haven't been able to stream my xboxone games to my n2 unless it is a wired connection.
this should allow me to achieve wireless streaming to my n2+ and my n2's
my h2+ on the other hand will have to rely on win for streaming. since the android is x86.

i know i'm asking alot, i would like to learn how to add drivers to diff android builds. this should be possible since it is open source correct.
i would love to add somethings to android 9 pie.
do you have any literature i can read to learn about these techniques.
or do you know where i may acquire?

lastly. i have been admiring - and avidly enjoying your work for many years now, and i thank you.
i can still remember the plethora of software i had for my first xu4, compliments of you.
anyway, we are lucky to have you :)

thanks for your time my friend, and the timely response!!

keep on crushin' it bruh'

@voodik, please look here viewtopic.php?p=323865#p323865. It seems that the backlight driver does not work, pwm0 doesn't appear in /sys/class/pwm/pwmchip4/.

Hi,

I've just seen that i can't connect to Google Chrome.
My account (let say abcd@gmail.com) was successfully connected with account settings, i am able to use play store.

But when i launch Google Chrome, it ask me to connect my account, so i enter abcd.... and it says existing account, and can't sync to it.

I tried every cache cleaning, play store, services, etc.

Is there a driver for 0a12:0001 bluetooth adapter? It's BLE model, it appears with lsusb but not working.

Thanks again

I'm developing an app for the ODROID and having issues with video playback. I have tried a few videos of various format (but all H.264), but have been unable to get them to play on the Movie Player, which results in a black screen, or the Gallery Player, which has a black screen then crashes.

I am using the latest 20210225 Alpha-v0.5 build with Magisk v21.1

The videos played fine on the LineageOS 17.1 build (but the UI would freeze after boot and before the clock could correct itself randomly on reboot).

I created simple app testing playback using both VideoView and ExoPlayer to see any errors being thrown.

Wasn't sure at what level this issue would occur, so I figured I would reach out.

Any help or insight would be appreciated, or if anyone needs any more information, let me know.

So for more stable media playback please use earlier versions of Android.
Lineage-17/18 is only port and using old blobs. I make a lot of hacks to make it work, but of course not all features supported.
I will try make more deep investigation and understand if it possible to fix.

Re: [ROM][LineageOS 18.1][Android 11.0][voodik] for the ODROID-N2

Post by zyssai »

Can anyone point me to a working bluetooth dongle?
I have an old one that not working, i bought a new one BLE compatible, but always not working.
I need bluetooth for my project. I tested with lineage17 and linux image, both are not working.

And, is there a way to have gmaps working? I have force close.
Gps seems to work (with usbgps4droid app).

Thanks!

If it work with lineage-17.1 should work on 18.1 also.
So, increase log buffer size from developer options to 16 mb, dump logcat, and post them somewhere.

HK BT module 2 is supported but it discounted.
So it based on CSR8510 A10 chip. You need find same one but not cheap clone.
I have a clone one, visually it same also same VID/PID but missing BLE.

So i told both (original and clone) have a same 0a12:0001 VID/PID.
And clone is also like a CSR8510 A10 but no working. So i don't know how recognize it before buy.

BTW, google maps bug will be fixed in next version.

How is emulation performance on Android 11? Is it improved from Android 9 or the same? I'm using The N2+ with overclock settings.

Can you test this version for video issues ?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mDagiu ... sp=sharing

i make tests with demo exoplayer app from play store. Also tried Youtube, Kodi, DASH, h264, h265, VP9, 4K playback everything works.
@voodik it seems that no one as tested it.
I tried it even if i have no need of video.

Youtube is playing black screen, don't know why.
I tried vlc, 4k is not working with x264 or x265, but i think it's because i have vu7a+ so perhaps it needs resolution conversion?
vlc 1080p is working perfectly with h264, i have no h265 to test.

For those who wanna make backup:
I use sdcard with Ubuntu, because it does not work for me with Android terminal, or adb shell.
I leave emmc to backup, put sdcard, start odroid with SBI mode.
Once in Ubuntu, open mate terminal then:

Code: Select all

sudo dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/media/usb0/backup.img bs=1M
Replace of=.... with path of USB Key or drive where you will place your backup IMG. Check with explorer.

To restore backup, start Ubuntu, then:

Code: Select all

sudo dd if=/media/usb0/backup.img o+f=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M
