G.Skill F4-2400C16D-32GRS 16GBx2 don't boot

Hi, i hope its ok that i start a new Thread
mine looks close to error viewtopic.php?f=173&t=41645

today i received my ram order... installed... and system (v1.12) doesn't boot...
Tryed to upgrade BIOS to v1.22 but results same error

G.Skill F4-2400C16D-32GRS 16GBx2

after install the old ram modul (4GB Micron 2666) the system booted fine

in "Confirmed RAM Modules" the ram shown as confirmed. does anybody know what bios version i have to use?

ps. its the second ram i ordered in 1 week... the first was shown as incompatible. But i recognized it as i installed it

User @aw_ reported it in July 2019 and I guess the version must be 1.05.

If version 1.05 still doesn't solve your problem, the memory module vendor might change something in their hardware design.

long story short... it works!!!

i'll explain what i've done

- first installed a working RAM (4GB DDR4 Micron)
- downgraded BIOS from 1.22 to 1.05
- G.Skill 16GB installed <- doesnt work... 2x Blue 1x Red LED light up...
- G.Skill 32GB installed <- doesnt work.... 2x Blue 1x Red LED light up...

yesterday i orderd some other RAM (3. try), this was delivered this morning
Corsair CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 (2x 16GB)

- Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) installed <- doesnt work... 2x Blue 1x Red LED light up...
- Corsair 16GB installed <- doesnt work... 2x Blue 1x Red LED light up... realy!? come on...
angry as f*** i'm close to ship the whole thing back to my seller... but dont turned off the Odroid H2+ RevB... maybe 5-10minutes later i saw... 2x Blue 1x Red LED flashed realy short...
i pressed the powerbotton... the blue leds turn off... everything locks fine.
Restared the H2+ and it works... 16GB check...

- Corsair 32GB installed <- doesnt work... 2x Blue 1x Red LED light up... WHAAAAT
...okay i disasembled the hole thing
- installed the "working 16GB" on slot 2... works...
- Corsair 32GB installed and working 16GB on slot 2 <- doesnt work... angry as f*** Part 2
- Corsair "not working 16GB" on slot 1... and same mistake as obove after 5-10minutes the leds flashed... works...
- Corsair 32GB isntalled... works !!!

in my opinion the hole story makes no sense, but im realy realy happy it works now.
and all 32GB are recognized and available.

- Corsair CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 1x16GB or 2x16GB works

Incompatible RAM Modules with BIOS 1.12 and 1.22
- Corsair CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 1x16GB or 2x16GB both are incompatible with this BIOS Version

Incompatible RAM Modules with BIOS 1.05, 1.12 and 1.22
- Crucial CT16G4SFRA266 1x16GB or 2x16GB both are incompatible
- G.Skill RIPJAWS F4-2400C16D-32GRS 1x16GB or 2x16GB both are incompatible

Thank you for sharing the valuable information. It seems that a wrong memory configuration in the CMOS backup memory made a very long(over several minutes) in the first booting process.

We will try finding what broke the compatibility of the Corsair CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 modules with newer BIOS updates.

I've got 2 x CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 in two new h2+ both power straight on when power is connected with 2 blue and 1 red all solid and no display. I dont know the firmware version as neither post.

Is the current recommend workaround to source smaller ram modules and then downgrade to 1.05 or would the new 1.23 firmware?

I can confirm that G.Skill RIPJAWS F4-2400C16D-32GRS 1x16GB or 2x16GB is incompatible. No post. Don’t know the BIOS version as I don’t have alternative RAM at the moment.

The stock BIOS version on the H2+ is 1.05.

i recently set up a H2+ with g.SKILL Ram. The initial boot took a quite long time (about 5 min or more) but now it's running quite well. I used two G.Skill F4-2400C16S-16GRS.
Makes 32 GB in total. If you are talking about 32GRS i assume this means it's a 32GB module, makes 2*32GB. With a max of 32GB on a H2+ it's perhaps a little too much?

But at least with only one 32GB module the machine should boot up. Am i wrong?

No. each memory slot can accept up to 16GB only.

I've had to purchase a 4GB Samsung DIMM to get the 2 x H2+ to post and I can confirm it was running firmware version 1.12 so looks like they're not always shipping with firmware 1.05. This is probably why my 2 x Corsair CMSX32GX4M2A2400C16 didn't post.

I've updated my firmware to the trial 1.23 firmware and I can confirm my 2 x 16gb corsair now post successfully

You are right. The latest shipping firmware was 1.12.
