Will those get shipped before the ones from the HardKernel store?animeware wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 1:36 amyou can pre order Odroid Go Super here

1. No. You need to flash the OS image to your own SD card.venn189 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 12:47 pmA few questions to those who have used the OGS preview units:
1) Does the os come pre-installed on the unit, or does it run off of the sd card?
2) Is it upgradeable?
3) What version is it? I assume its Linux...
Excited about recieving it and want to hit the ground running!
The server is in an unstable state because there are a lot of visitors to the server.
You don't have to cross compile, you can install the build tools using apt and build on the device.miki151 wrote:I've been looking for a Linux-based handheld console for a while and this seems to be perfect, just ordered one. I'm excited to port my games to it, is there any tutorial on cross-compiling C/C++ programs to it from PC Linux?
The clear white one was sold out. The next production batch will be available ~5 weeks later.
If you don't need to debug uboot you can redirect kernel messages and console to the uart port on the exposed gpio pinsglebm wrote:Would it be possible to order a development unit (with a UART connector and a hole)? I'm truly terrible at soldering.
Unfortunately, the GPIO pin map on the 10pin header socket was changed a lot.
I'm happy to solder the serial header myself, but would be good if you could sell extra plastic back parts, so that I can drill a hole on mine and know I will be able to replace it with a non-drilled part once I'm done with the debugging (or just want to play). Thanks!
For some concrete numbers: A full rebuild of my project takes 40s on my Desktop (8-core i7 9700k CPU), and roughly an hour on the OGA. Afterwards, incremental builds that touch only 1 or 2 files are pretty quick even on the device.
It sounds like the size is very similar to my project, which also uses a lot of C++ and templates, so I'll definitely be looking at cross compilation before trying to port it. But it's good to know that otherwise compiling works well on the device, since I'll also be playing around with smaller games.lethal_guitar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 5:47 pmFor some concrete numbers: A full rebuild of my project takes 40s on my Desktop (8-core i7 9700k CPU), and roughly an hour on the OGA. I hope some youtuber will make a video showcase of available images (for gaming or general purpose)venn189 wrote:So, ordered, and waiting for it to arrive! Anyone have a preference as to the "best" version of the os to use?
Personally I run the crashoverride/hardkernel provided image and am happy with it.venn189 wrote:So, ordered, and waiting for it to arrive! Anyone have a preference as to the "best" version of the os to use?
I don't think that's going to be possible, most distributions resize automatically on first boot and also creates all of the ROM folders.tveith wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:53 amI just created the image on a 400GB microsd card. I'm trying to resize the partition using mini tool partition -- didn't work. Then tried DiskGenius -- didn't work, errors. The image burned successfully with Etcher so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've never had problems resizing ext4 partitions in the past. I receive the Odroid Go Super on Monday so I was hoping to burn the image, resize it, and add my games prior to receiving it. Any advice? Can you resize the partition to use remaining space using the Odroid Go Super itself? Thanks.
OK thanks -- this is my first Odroid handheld, I'm coming from Raspberry Pi where I was able to resize the partitions this way. I'll wait until I receive my Odroid Go Super on Monday. Once I run it for the first time, I'll check it out and see if it auto expands. Thanks for your reply.notime2d8 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 7:14 amI don't think that's going to be possible, most distributions resize automatically on first boot and also creates all of the ROM folders.tveith wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:53 amI just created the image on a 400GB microsd card.
