EmuELEC v3.7 - Retro Emulation for the Odroid C4

Post by shanti »

Release notes are too extensive to post here, but I just released v3.7 which has official support for the N2+ (read the release notes)

https://github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/releases/tag/v3.7

---------------- OLD INFO ----------------

Just uploaded v3.6 stable

Hello all:

As EmuELEC v3.6 is soon to be released I wanted to share the pre-release (or test version, as I call them) for the Odroid C4, you can find it here:
https://emuelec.dpi.mx/files/index.php?dir=Amlogic-ng

I will be uploading new versions as I release them, and I will announce the official release once it is done.

Use etcher or win32img to burn the file

Code: Select all

EmuELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-3.6-TEST-.....-Odroid_C4.img.gz
to an SD card.
If you have any issues running it please let me know, but you can also check the wiki at https://github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/wiki

In case you don't know, EmuELEC is a distro for retro emulation on Amlogic devices, it uses CoreELEC as a base. It is mainly for Amlogic boards but it also works on the Odroid Go Advance.

Happy retrogaming!

Try this fix: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Odroid-C1-C2/ (Fix sound not working/stuttering)

I don't test the sound via HDMI yet, but I remember that this was horrible to fix in RPI 2/3 with retropie.

Great job Shanti. I've just bought the Odroid HC4. First tried v3.7 from here. Then noticed there are a lot newer versions.
I'll again make a video about emuElec. Big thanks.
P.S. Have you got a place to donate so I can point to it?
Have a nice day.

Here my video about EmuElec 4.0 on the Odroid HC4.

I'm amazed by how good the HC4 is for gaming. It doesn't perform that much worse than the Odroid N2+.
Having SATA for full size HDD's is great with EmuElec. Easy to use a hard disk to put all your games on.
The single USB is good enough to connect your controller, or a BT dongle.
I love it. Tho now it's going down to sit next to my router to be a NAS. My N2+ and NanoPi M4V2 are my main gaming rigs.
Greetings, NicoD
