USB - disabled, or broken?

Post by TheFeshy »

Unfortunately when I turn my C4 on, no peripherals attached to the 4 USBs on the "back" get power. However, things plugged in to the OTG port on the "side" function normally. Is there anything I could have done to accidentally disable them, or has my C4 simply broken?

What OS are you running with your C4 and what's the version of it?
Please run lsusb -t and share the output of it.

I have tried both Coreelec and the Android version supplied with an Ameridroid emmc. Currently I am using coreelec, and the output of lsusb -t is

# lsusb -t
/: Bus 02.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/1p, 5000M
/: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci-hcd/2p, 480M
|__ Port 2: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Human Interface Device, Driver=usbhid, 12M
|__ Port 2: Dev 2, If 1, Class=Human Interface Device, Driver=usbhid, 12M

The C4 recommends using the 12V/2A power supply https://ameridroid.com/products/12v-2a- ... upply-plug

Oops, sorry about that - I thought I linked the right one, but the one I have is 12v/2A and looks just like that. It was the one in the Ameridroid recommendation.

In that case, your board seems to have a hardware problem with the on-board USB hub controller VL817.

Please try this official Ubuntu image and check the 'lsusb -t' output.

If there is no difference, please contact "odroid at hardkernel dot com" with a link of this thread.
They will help you if you purchased the device from our web-store directly.
Otherwise, contact your local distributor/reseller.
