Can you describe your issue in more detail?
Do you mean right direction of D-Pad buttons is stuck so D-PAD right event keeps on continuously?

Basically when im in a game it plays as if something holding down the right dpad as you mentioned above.

Thank you for your reply.
So do you feel up / down / left D-pad buttons are pressed smoothly?
To make sure this issue is related to button assembly problem or OGA board itself, can you disassemble your set and check the D-pad button part hole fits in correctly?

already disassembled it and checked for the dpad issue twice. I will do it one more time in the morning to check again and will post my results afterwards

I would suggest running the button test to determine if its the DPAD or the joystick.

1) Turn the device off.
2) Hold down L1+R1 and turn the device on.
3) "[GPIO KEY TEST]" should appear on the display. When a button is pressed it changes color from red to blue.

This would indicated the issue is the joystick rather than the DPAD. See the following post for tips to resolve it:

again, it wasn't plugged in during some of the tries
ie it kept pushing right while it was not plugged in and pushed right while being plugged in.

If the joystick is not plugged in or not connected properly, it behaves as if its pushed to the right. This will affect anything that allows use of joystick or DPAD. It will act like the DPAD right is pressed when it is not.

The purpose of the button test earlier was to confirm the individual behavior of the DPAD. The test ignores the joystick. If the DPAD test shows the buttons working, then the issue is the joystick.

[edit]
To clarify, if the joystick is not connected, it does not behave as if its centered. Instead, it reads as if its always pushed to the right. The joystick must be connected properly to complete the circuit that allows the joystick to be read.

You will need to contact the store you purchased it from. If you purchased directly from HardKernel, you will likely need to wait until regular business hours for a response. Keep in mind the time zone difference.

If you think one of your OGA main boards has a hardware problem, contact "odroid at hardkernel dot com" with a URL of this thread.
They will help you if you purchased the device from our web-store directly.
Otherwise, contact your local distributor/reseller.

I have the exact same issue.
Didn't use it for more then 3 months because Ingame it's always pushing to the right. I had no problem when I bought it. Used it regularly. Suddenly this started.

I will try the dpad test now and will check the cable connection of the joystick too.
I love my oga, it's a pity it doesn't work properly.

I tried the key test.
All buttons ok
LCD Test ok
Backlight test ok

ADC Key Test - no reaction at all. I need to turn off the oga at this point.
Is that a joystick test?

I carefully reconnected the ribbon twice, no change.

I still can't do anything at the ADC Key Test and in all games it's like constantly pushing to the right.
I can't play anything.

Could the joystick or even the motherboard be broken? Since I love the OGA and since it has no Glas screen cover I was always totally careful with it. -. -

Yes, the "ADC Key Test" responds to the joystick when pushed in the indicated direction. If there is no response, it indicates a fault with the joystick.

Ok but I just found the problem. I watched the other thread again about the cable connection. More carefully this time .
I didn´t realize it wasn´t the big ribbon cable but the little one that goes to the stick.
It was a few months ago that I build the oga and didn´t remember that.

So I opened the oga again to check this cable too because I only reconnected the big one a few times, not the little one.

After reopening the case I saw the connector cover for the little one is missing completey. I can only assume it wasn´t closed properly the first time and when I opend the case the cover popped open. I reconnected the big ribbon cable and did´t see the small opend cover since it was in the eveing with bad light. I assume when I closed the case, the battery touched the cover and broke it. I even have a tiny little dent in the battery at the point, where the cover should sit underneath.

So here I am. I think the only thing I can do is to try to solder the little ribbon to the connector. Directly or using tiny wires.

Not sure if this is possible. Did anyone try to do that allready?

I think it is extremely hard to solder very thin wires on the flat cable of the analog joystick. :(

That´s right. It melts immediatelly. I tried it...
I have a spare joystick from a raspberry Pi project, but even a 32awg wire is to big to solder it to only one pin of the connector on the OGA Board.

So, looks like I don´t have an OGA anymore. -.-

Hmm....you could also look on the wiki on how to build the kernel and just disable the joystick driver. Then you could still use it with just the d-pad?

Does anyone know if you can edit the joystick range values in the boot.ini to disable the joystick?
If I say something that sounds smart or like i know what i'm talking about....i'm faking it.
