No, I haven't, but I could. The history sensor just measures the total time spent in a state during a day, but doesn't enforce anything.
But I do have this automation which notifies me their time is up:

Code: Select all

- id: '1579182237025' alias: Notify if Bedroom TV is playing for 30 minutes
  description: ''
  trigger:
  - entity_id: media_player.tv_bedroom_atv
    for: 0:30:00
    platform: state
    to: 'on'
  condition:
  - after: '18:00'
    before: '21:30'
    condition: time action:
   - data:
        message: Turn off kids video
title: '*TV Dormitor playing for 30 min*'
    service: notify.telegram_message
It could easily be expanded to turn it off, etc...

Very interesting. As a young parent I'm preparing for when my children will ask to watch tv on their own.

Sometimes I can't click on the search lens in the laystore. It's there but it''s unselectable.

I was wrong. Except the first time, when I logged in my google account and was able to search and install some apps, now I can't do any search in the google playstore.

You can use google search instead. Or just uninstall playstore updates.
I know about this issue but cannot find fix for now.

I don't know why, but the search in the home points only to youtube. Then I used the browser and all went well.
Thanks a lot.

On a totally different subject, is it possible to integrate in the kernel exfat and ntfs writing support?

@voodik: Remember that some apps (like Google Earth) display in a broken portrait mode with 3/4 of the window black? I tested RealVNC viewer on your ATV and also on a "stock" ATV running on a TV and it behaves the same way. So, I think it might be an app issue, not a rom issue (sadly).
Will need to search for a different VNC viewer for my TV (so that I can use it as a second desktop, with all this work from home craze).

@voodik: I made this rom my daily driver on the N2. I even ported my kodi library from CoreElec to android kodi.
By the way, I noticed a strange behavior: if I put the device to sleep with the HK remote, on resume the apps are unresponsive. The same occurs even if I leave the device on for some time (hours).
For example: Kodi needs a lot of time to buffer a video stored on my NAS and during the play it keeps to rebuffer a lot, and Youtube doesn't load any selected video.
If I restart the device everything is smooth.

I too am using it as a daily driver on N2, and I haven't noticed any of these issues (kodi also loads from a nas)

I'm starting to suspect that restoring a Kodi backup from CoreElec could be the casue.
Do you configure Kodi from scratch in Android?

Yes. But I did use the backup/restore plugin to clone the configuration to a second ATV and that worked

Has anyone faced the issue with a top menu (usually search and three-dots-button buttons are there) in some apps being inaccessible? I can’t navigate there neither with my tv remote (HDMI-CEC) nor with the Android-TV remote control app. I can only get there with a mouse.

If you are referring to the PlayStore app, it's a known bug. You can search using your browser and the link will open the associated app

That’s happening with some other apps as well.

The self-boot image and the update file are the same or appear to be in name, ie same names date and time. So is there any need to install the update now? This is a new install BTW.

Moved from MINIX U1 Lollipop 5.1 which is 32Bit with only 2Gb RAM/16Gb Storage.

Cheers for all the hard work!

@Voodik

I loaded up selfinstall-odroidn2-s922_lineage-16.0_beta-0.1_20200423.img.zip today and ran into a few of what I think are bugs.
Thought I would report them.

First if I configure the ethernet to a static IP the wifi will not connect. I can see all the wifi AP's around me but after I put in the key for my AP it simply ignores it, says saved but just makes no effort to connect.
When I change the ethernet setting back to DHCP it connected right away, did not even need to ask it or enter the key, the saved info worked.
I tested this twice and rebooted many many times.
additional, if the wifi is connected when I set the static IP on the eth all is ok until reboot, then the problem appears.

Second, I cannot get the USB Bluetooth module supplied by Hardkernel with my N2 to work, it is completely ignored, as tho the driver was not included maybe?

Thanx much :)

P.S. should I be using a different image? should I use the 64 bit image?
This is for a carpc application.

1. Android Framework using only one active connection at time, so you need disconnect your Ethernet to use WiFi.
2. Odroid Settings> Misc > uncheck Disable Bluetooth service.

p.s. no 32-bit Lineage builds anymore. all is 64-bit

I have front and rear IP cameras with an NVR doing that job headless, I wanted the N2 to be able to access this setup via the Eth while the wifi is to gain access to internet for maps and music.

Did anyone have any luck getting the power key on your remote to shutdown the N2? I set the power key definition to shutdown but it goes to suspend instead.

Can I install this on a seperate SD card without messing up anything with my CoreELEC which i use for movies to have hdr and dtsx passthrough etc

Reset Collection is the main reason I want to try this after watching youtube videos.

Thanks

You need to register your GSF ID
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/

After registration wait 10-20 mins, reboot device.

Just to notify: I just flashed that version to my eMMc.

1) I still cant click the search button or any item on the top menu
2) PlayStore runs pretty laggy and buggy

The Android 9 its a lot more smoother and version 17 of the Play Store works fine... The only problem i have is that everytime i reboot the board the play store app updates

Thanks for the update. I PM'd you a while ago, but was wondering if there is anyway to remove Google Apps from this Lineage OS Build? Or if you can provide a Lineage OS Build with 0 Google Apps. Since we could use Aurora Store/F-droid/or just USB install apks. I think Google Play for ATV Builds isn't necessary and we can still install Plex + Cinema HD + TVZion + Kodi etc without Google Apps installed.

What is everyone using as a remote control?
I have numerous ones from harmony hub to mouse and keyboard.
Have not had much luck in getting the harmony to work.
The harmony works on CoreElec installed on my emmc, with Microsoft Media player and Odroid as a device.
