Odroid Go as BT controller

Post by Airfixer »

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the OG has Bluetooth. Does anyone know if a .fw exists to use the Odroid Go as a Bluetooth controller.

I think it would be great to be able to use it for retro gaming on the go and then use it as a Bluetooth controller to play games on a phone or tablet too.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that .fw but it just boots to a blank screen. I tried finding the OG via BT without luck.

Have you used it?

Yes, about a year ago. It may depend on the version of your device firmware. Try updating that first.

The software uses BT LE, not BT classic. It will only be visible and pair with host devices that support BT LE.

[edit]
The ODROID-GO keyboard accessory is also required for correct operation.

Thanks for the reply.

I was using an Iphone 8, which AFAIK has BT LE.

However, I don't have an ODROID-GO keyboard accessory, which might explain it.

It enables the ODROID-GO to be a BT keyboard, rather than a BT game controller using the ODROID-GO's buttons then?

I remember using it also without the attached keyboard. But it was long ago (about a year ago), so my memory is not that accurate... Anyway you should see something on the screen when it starts (its MAC I think). So, make sure you have the latest base firmware

I updated to the latest base firmware (20181001) and no longer have a blank screen. You're right - it does display the ODROID's MAC, but doesn't do much else without the ODROID-GO keyboard.

Shame, it would have been great to be able to use the ODROID-GO's gamepad buttons as a BT game controller with a phone.

Thanks for your help.

It should be siscoverable/pairable at this point. Don't you see it on your phone?

No, I can’t see it as a BT device from my iPhone 8.
