How to clone SD card containing Android image?

Post by laci »

I'm running Android on my ODROID-N2. I know from experience that due to occasional bad sectors, the precise size of SD cards doesn't match exactly which can cause trouble when copying their content from block to block with a command line tool like cat. I'm looking for a Linux tool that solves this problem, something like https://github.com/Drewsif/PiShrink but one that deals with Android SD card content.

A uSD cloning/imaging program, like "Win32 DiskImager" does not care what OS/content is on the card. It copies sector by sector to an image file which can be later written to same or another (best same size) uSD card.

Thanks guys! For some reason, Win32 DiskImager couldn't see the USB drive, and odroid-backup seemed like too much trouble due to its Perl background an unofficial dependencies, so I ended up unmounting sdc1 and sdc2 and then catting sdc to a file. After catting the file back to another sd card, it worked flawlessly.
