M.2 to 5xSATA adaptor

Post by snowtim »

Hello, does anybody try to use the M.2 to 5x SATA adaptor (controller IC: JMicron JMB585) with the Odroid H2? Does it need to install the driver? It states the JMB585 support 2 x PCI-e 3.0 but the Odroid H2 support 4 x PCI-e 2.0. Thanks.

I have one, and I didn't need to install a driver for Ubuntu 18.04 It seemed to work pretty good, as well. It seemed to be faster than the 5 sata drives connected to it for sequential access in raid-5.

This Delock 54668 model seems to have been replaced with the newer(?) Delock 62850 - has anyone experiences with that one?
How to increase the 3042 formfactor to H2's 2280 for a stable mounting?
With 3042 is there still enough space for the ram?

@fvolk - The space is tight but yes there is 1mm or so between my hyperx ram and the adapter. And to mount i have bought a seperate thingy to get from screw holes to the adapter.

Thank you for confirmation - maybe Odroid planned for that or we just got lucky ;-)
I'm considering it if 6x 2.5 drives can be powered - see other thread.
