Request for updated libvpcodec

Post by crashoverride » Tue May 26, 2020 4:36 pm

I want to use the hardware video encoder in the C4. Is there an updated libvpcodec available that supports the H264/H265 encoder?
https://github.com/OtherCrashOverride/c2_vpcodec

I found the drivers here:
https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/tre ... nk/encoder

The kernel interface is too low level to use without a support library like libvpcodec.

I've just requested it to Amlogic people. But I am not sure when we can receive it.

Do you have an estimate for when hardware encode support will become available?

A couple of ge2d driver patches and H.265 encoding example code will be available by early July hopefully.
