@Voodik, my display color is washed out (looks white without contrast). Without changing anything, sometimes after restarting , it becomes sharp again and sometimes it does not. This happen in all display settings. There is no color depth option when the display is sharp, but the color depth option comes back when the display is washed out. And changing the color depth does not make the display sharp. This started with Beta 0.1 and it is also happening in beta 0.2. It is a frustrating issue. Thank you for your help and all you do. Much appreciated.

Try other os, eg Linux, or latest HK android to exclude hardware problems, and understand is the problem Lineage related.

No such issue in your alpha 0.2 build, which I have on another eMMC module. Although, I experienced the same issue on the new android OS image. Linus work fine and every other previous builds -Lineage, ATV and android OS work fine. Thanks for your help.

So i think this latest Amlogic BSP related issue. Create separate post, post some photos, also HK specs take a look.

Just remembered it was the Kiosk Test build, so probably that the reason why it wont upgrade, will do a fresh wipe ona official build

Installed latest version HDR does not switch off. I have Odroid Settings set to SDR to HDR OFF, yet in the launcher and elsewhere its obvious and the TV confirms it is receiving HDR signal. It appears washed out so i guess the same issue someone had a few posts above

For info i also had the washed out look as mentioned above and it is Lineage only, coreelec and emuelec are fine. The settings panel fails to change resolution correctly as per below, and colour dept settings only had off as an option until i cleared the apps cache and storage. Failed to switch resolutions and sdr to hdr permanently locked on each signal type 444, 442 etc 8 bit only output

Even worse, after three attempts at getting it to switch from 4k to 1080p it no longer displays any output and i just got the Cant Load Android System Your Data May be Corrupt so i guess another fresh install is in order, but will go back to an older build, also occurs in beta 1 build

EDIT

Just flashed Hardkernels latest Android and it also is washed out and HDR permanently on ignoring the setting in odroid settings, although the option for upto 12bit 444 and 442/422 is showing whereas this stated 8 bit.

EDIT 2

Flashed your last Alpha version and SDR is working correctly. You can tell its not working on beta builds because when you switch it the screen does not blackout whilst changing unlike how it does on Alpha build. The 422 and 444 still locked at upto 8bit on this version but thats no drama at all. Screen is no longer washed out on this version

Hi, I think it's the Petitboot issue and let me look into it.
Hi, it works with newest Pettiboot - LineageOS beta 2 boots without any issues from sd card.

Thank you!

Hi voodik,

This might be a stupid question, but I am trying to build a custom Android image through the repo. I have the custom kernel image made, but I am not sure what directory the image file needs to go in the AOSP folder. The name of my AOSP working folder is odroid-n2 as stated in https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-n2/softw ... ng_android. Could you please advise on where I should put the finished Image kernel file?
I can't seem to find the kernel prebuilt directory. The files I downloaded are:
1. 64bit Android
$ mkdir odroid-n2
$ cd odroid-n2
$ repo init -u https://github.com/hardkernel/android.git -b s922_9.0.0_64_master
$ repo sync

2. linux repository
$ git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/hardkernel/linux.git -b odroidn2-4.9.y-android

I know that my custom kernel image should be placed somewhere in the odroid-n2 folder before I execute the following commands, but I don't know where.
$ source build/envsetup.sh
$ lunch odroidn2-eng
$ make -j<core number> selfinstall

Appreciate the help!

Kernel already fetched by repo sync to odroid-n2/common folder

Do you see latest update changelog ? I added your modem driver and uqmi binary to control your modem.

Hello voodik,

Thank you so much for the help!

Yeah, I saw your updates, so I went to https://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/S922X/ODRO ... lfinstall/ and downloaded the beta-0.2. I flashed it into my SD and booted it up on N2, but it still didn't recognize /dev/ttyUSB0, /dev/ttyUSB1, /dev/ttyUSB2, /dev/ttyUSB3 when I plugged in my Quectel module (EC25). Did I download the wrong file?

This drivers enabled as module, so you need insmod them for first
setup adb shell, or open terminal and root access.
then run

Code: Select all

insmod /vendor/lib/modules/usb_wwan.ko
insmod /vendor/lib/modules/option.ko
insmod /vendor/lib/modules/qmi_wwan.ko
then check e.g. /vendor/etc/init/hw/init.odroid.board.rc
how to make insmod at boot time

This build is awesome on the N2 if you like retro gaming. The reset collection front end makes things nice and neat!

@voodik

Just to follow up on my report regarding my MINIX A3 remote not being able to move widgets onto the desktop, I bought a new remote, the WeChip Mini Air Fly Mouse Remote 2.4G Motion Sensing Controller with Keyboard for Android TV Box

Image

Both of them aren't able to drag any widgets on the home screen by selecting the widget, holding the OK button and dragging the widget. Nothing happens for some reason

Many thanks

I also bought MINIX A3. And successfully add widgets with Gyro Mouse mode. Just hold down OK button and drag to home screen.
I will check again and make video.

I'm using NOVA Launcher, and I have tried to hold the OK button which initially highlights the widget but when you try and drag the widget using the gyro mouse, it won't move at all.

Is there a setting I'm missing that should be on? Both my wireless gyro remotes act the exact same way

Cheers

Is there a setting I'm missing that should be on? Both my wireless gyro remotes act the exact same way

Cheers
So please try with stock launcher if it work report issue to Nova launcher devs.

I also bought MINIX A3. And successfully add widgets with Gyro Mouse mode. Just hold down OK button and drag to home screen.

It works perfectly on my previous TV Box the MINIX NEO U1 using NOVA Launcher that's why I reported it. They use a modified tablet ROM for their device. This is the first time I've seen a device not work with NOVA Launcher regarding widget dragging

@voodik thanks for the update!

AVRCP via the launcher controls now works thank you, I can now pause and then the counter correctly stops, and play and next/prev work again.

The multimedia keycodes via USB are still the same however - I can pause, but play doesn't work or next/prev. These do work with normal media player apps, just not via BT AVRCP.

Thanks!
Ben
It should be done in launcher, launcher need handle keyevents and forward them to AVRCP.
Try to contact with Launcher devs
Hi @voodik, I tried to contact the developers of Car Launcher Pro with no success, however I've now tested 3 different launchers (AGAMA and Nova) with the same results so I'm wondering if there is is in fact an issue with this at OS level.

What I've found is that with no locally stored music on the Odroid I get the behaviour described in my quoted post above. However, if there is a USB stick with music in the Odroid but I am streaming music over a2dp from my phone, when I use the track skip USB Keycodes it activates the locally stored music in the Music app and stops my streaming.
So, I think the problem is these media commands are always being send to the local Media player app instead of using AVRCP over the current active a2dp bluetooth connection.

During my various experimenting with this I did manage to get it to work correctly, although I did have to press MEDIA_PLAYPAUSE twice for it to start working correctly from the USB keyboard input whilst the music was streaming via a2dp. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I did to get this working, and I foolishly re-imaged my eMMC card and have been completely unable to reproduce this working configuration!

But in short, briefly reading this document https://developer.android.com/guide/top ... ia-session it would appear that the correct behaviour is to send the media control key commands to a current active media session (i.e. the a2dp playing session) rather than to the Music app (which isn't playing), so I think that the current behaviour is not quite correct. I'm not sure whether this is something that is within your control?

Many thanks,
Ben
