[HELP] Running clousdhell-nmon on the OGST case

Post by Danielsan » Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:37 am

Hi there,

I am trying to make the cloudshell-nmon application working on the OGST case, I followed the step from the WIKI:

https://wiki.odroid.com/accessory/add-o ... lcd_config

However even if the hardware is the same cloudshell-nmon is not running on the activated LCD but on the TTY8, so far I understood the reason is that program doesn't expect to find a HDMI activated hence it won't "redirect" the signal on the LCD screen.

Any idea on how make it working properly with the HDMI in use?

I am using the XU4 Ubuntu 18.04.3 image.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

What happens if you don't connect the HDMI cable?
Do you have a SSH console via Ethernet connection for easier debugging?

Hi Odroid,

thanks for your support.

If I disconnect the HDMI the LCD works, and cloudshell-nmon works but it is "behind" a TTY01, I think it does not expect to have a login manager handling the session. I have to check inside the C-N config file to see if I can change some settings to make it working properly even in presence of the HDMI, I haven't tried yet.

@mad_ady Might have something to add, I know he was once working on having both displays functional on the CloudShell 2.

Not on the cloudshell, but on the c2 with 3.5" lcd and hdmi. I almost managed to run two x11 sessions on them, but I had issues loggin into both (with different users). One of them would continously go back to the login screen.

Though my tests should work on cs2.

I was checking out about the SPI, I have really difficult to figure out the XORG, HDMI, SPI dev work together, this is beyond my ability, the only thing I was able to understand is that I can "CAT" a raw image on /dev/fbd1...
