Mini keyboard with touchpad blocks USB3 port

Unread post by o_lampe » Sun Mar 08, 2020 2:07 am

I have a minikeyboard with integrated touchpad on my N2.
It works OK, but I can't put anything else ( ext. DVD-RW, SATA-SSD ) in the other port of bus 1.
If I try, the touchpad and buttons have a very high latency. I'm afraid, I can't even add a XBox gamecontroller dongle.
For highspeed devices, I can only use the other bus.

Here's the USB list
Any obvious problems, you can point out? Or any advice?
Thx
Olaf

Traditionally Amlogic had latency issues when combining high speed and low speed (e.g. 12Mbps) devices on the same bus. So things like kb/mouse/some sound cards/bt dongles should be attached directly or via a hub to the otg port.

I haven't thought of the OTG port being THAT useful!

Must the hub have any particular specifications?
Can you give some buying advice?
I'd like to use my joypad via bluetooth, but due to the latency problem I have to use the old-fashioned cable (like a true old console).

I can't say anything on BT latency. Having a different port improves stability.
Before spending money try the bt dongle on the otg port directly - see if it improves anything

It's perfect.
Now I can play without being with my head against the TV due to the usb cable length.
