1. About bluetooth ? You need enable it from Odroid Settings > Misc tab (Disabled by default) ten reboot. If you enabled it and still doesn't work please dump logs as described in my signature.
2. Tested with my USB Audio DAC, volume controls on Navigation bar working well.
Hi! got my second N2 board. Yes, bluetooth works fine (last time i'm only enable sink profile but forget about disable "Disable BT") and i successfully connected to it by my phone and play music through N2.

About USB DAC - can't check it again right now (DAC is installed in car right now)

Have a question about BT sink profile - is it only for media playing? Can i use Odroid as BT hands-free headset to pass calls from my phone to it ?
No, Hands-free profile does not work via USB.

I came across this thread and thought, "This could be perfect for my TV box." The box will be Wifi connected.

Questions:
1. What dongles are available i.e. 2.4GHz and/or 5GHz?
2. The LOS works perfectly with a wireless keyboard?
3. I would be able to install:
Advanced Download Manager so that I can download to an external USB drive
MX Player
A nice launcher that will allow me to place only Apps of my choice on the home screen.
4. Most important of all! Can I permanently change the DNS.

Sad to hear that.

Have another question. About GPS, is it possible to configure gpslib to use /dev/ttyS1 device with 9600 baud rate ? i've connect my GPS uart adapter directly to GPIO header and can read NMEA via `cat /dev/ttyS1` in adb shell.

Code: Select all

odroidn2:/ # ls -lah /dev/ttyS1
crw-rw---- 1 bluetooth bluetooth 239, 1 1970-01-01 00:00 /dev/ttyS1
Will be problem that device got bluetooth user:group not gps ?

You can chown it on init or boot stage in /vendor/etc/init/hw/init.odroidn2.rc

BTW
I will chown ttyS* nodes to gps in ueventd in next build.

Thanks alot.
Another thing that I want to implement is RIL support with quetel ec25 LTE modem. Quetel provides rild and libs with instructions how to add modem support to Android. Unfortunately it can be done only with source modification. I suppose your work with LOS is in private repo ?

I do not want to buy the N2 and find that it will not do these things.

However today on two occasions my GPS and wifi suddenly stopped working. The wifi connection icon disappeared from the status bar, and the GPSTest app showed no satellites at all.
Switching GPS off and on through the Odroid Settings had no effect. Only a reboot was able to fix it.
Been monitoring this for a couple more days and not seen this issue again, which is very strange. I remembered that at the same time as performing the update I fitted an RTC battery, don't know if that might have had anything to do with it.
But then I realised that the addition of the RTC battery doesn't make any difference to whether the clock is correct on bootup - is this function implemented?

Hi Voodik, sorry to report that the SPDIF output option doesn't seem to be working on this release. Every time I reboot the option changes back to HDMI,Line out, and there is no SPDIF output at all.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi, which wifi modules support miracast (wifi direct) in LineageOs 16.0?

How do I use init.d for this rom? I see the directory, and wrote my scripts. However, on boot it doesn't seem as if sysinit is getting called. Though I think it should be based on /etc/init/lineage-system.rc. What am I missing on how get this started?
thanks

Ok, I solved this problem.
I ended up editing /vendor/etc/init/hw/init.odroidn2.rc
and made the last trigger look like this:

on property:sys.boot_completed=1
# Enable ZRAM on boot_complete
swapon_all /vendor/etc/fstab.odroidn2
exec -- /system/bin/sysinit

I tried just doing start sysinit but that didn't work. Actually calling it as a binary and not the service seemed to do the trick.
I assume I'll have to put this hack back in each time I update, but at least I know what to do now

Hi Voodik, everything is working well thank you, especially with the updated Odroid Settings app that fixed the SPDIF output on the latest release. Are you planning to do an updated image with this included?

It looks like everyone else is pretty happy, judging by the lack of comments on the thread now?! :-D

Just one thing from me - I fitted the battery backup to my N2, but it doesn't set the time automatically at power-on, so still only gets the correct time when connected to a network. Is it possible for this functionality to be added at all?

Many thanks!
Ben

I'd like to ask for some kernel built-ins if you're doing an update. I'll post what is needed soon.

Re: [ROM] LineageOS-16.0 for ODROID-N2 (32/64 bit)

Unread post by mad_ady » Tue Feb 04, 2020 2:43 am

Sorry for the delay. I wanted to test docker support, but had no spare time. For now I'd only like 1-wire support (tested working with the 64bit ATV):

Code: Select all

CONFIG_W1=y
CONFIG_W1_CON=y
CONFIG_W1_MASTER_GPIO=y
CONFIG_W1_SLAVE_THERM=y
The dtbs needs to enable one wire for it to be functional with:

Code: Select all

fdtput -t s meson64_odroidn2_android.dtb /onewire status okay
Thanks a bunch!

Yes. From now only 64 bit images will be updated by me. Because 32 and 64 BSP is merged and using same sources. Also my hdd is out of space. So please migrate to 64 bit.

I've been able to install Xposed in the past on a LineageOS image for odroids, but with newer OSes we need to switch to Magisk + EdXposed.

Is it possible to install Magisk on this LOS image? I know it does't make a lot of sense since it is already rooted, but I don't know how else to get EdXposed installed without Magisk.

I do have magisk working (for the most part) with the normal roms provided by hardkernel and following this guide:
viewtopic.php?f=178&t=34063

But there are some things I really like about LineageOS and miss having, so if it is possible to get it all working with LOS that would be great!

Do all of the same touch screens (touch frames and film) work in LineageOS that are compiled in the HK kernel? I would like to build a large touch screen out of a TV.

Thank you in advance.

Hello voodik!
Can you please help me with configuring GPS in Lineage? I have latest version and GPS connected with USB - UART. It works when i use application like Serial USB to read data, but i don't see /dev/ttyUSB* nor ttyACM for this converter. It is CP2102 chipset which is detected via lsusb as 10c4:ea60. It used to work with XU4 like a charm but with N2 i can't get it to work...

Second thing is Wi-Fi with Bluetooth. Both devices works perfect, but not together. If i connect both wifi and bluetooth dongle, then wifi does not work at all (even the blue led is not lightinig). It is original Odroid's wifi module, and i do have uploaded patch from previous page.

Thanks!

1.
edit /vendor/etc/init/hw/init.odroid.board.rc
add

Code: Select all

insmod /vendor/lib/modules/cp210x.ko
2. I think this is not firmware related issue.
please check dmesg for USB errors
and verify via lsusb is your devices detected when both WIFI and BT modules are connected.

BTW latest version does not need any hotfixes which i released before update.

Thanks Voodik! GPS is now working!

Regarding the wifi/BT I can see something like this in dmesg:
[ 14.258988] <3>[ 14.258988@1] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00usb_vendor_request: Error - Vendor Request 0x06 failed for offset 0x1368 with error -110
repeated many times

The whole dmesg can be viewed here:

Hello, yes I have the same problem.

Wifi only is ok.
Bluetooth only is ok.

Both USB devices connected together, and wifi doesn't work. When going to wifi settings I get the message 'Settings isn't responding'.
This is Odroid wifi module 0.

Thanks,
Ben

I also have problems with Wi-Fi dongle.
I checked the newest 64 bit version, the newest 32bit and 32 bit version from August.

I connected to my Wi-Fi and everything works for couple minutes than Wi-Fi disconnects from my router.
If I trying enter to Wi-Fi options after it happened there is three situation which could happen.
1.Everything freeze than black screen than refresh and couple seconds later "settings didn't respond " screen.
2.Second, when I click turn off Wi-Fi, and then turn on after couple seconds. It is turning off by itself after 2-3 second.
3.Or the last one if none above wouldn't happened I can enter to Wi-Fi options but none Wi-Fi network is discovered.

I didn't remember which version I was using before upgrade but it was 32 bit version and it works like a charm... None problems with Wi-Fi.

The SPDIF is available on pin 2 of J7, but not the GPIO.

Do you also have a bluetooth dongle connected? As it sounds like the same problem I have.

First of all, thank you for wonderul image - I am very happy with it.

There is one topic where I don't know if this is real issue or work as designed. When I connect my wired PS4 controller, all sound is redirected to controller and no sound is coming via HDMI.

Is there way to change default sound device?

Forgive me stupid question: How can I use this zip from you? Write it with disk imager / copy directly to SD / install as patch?
