Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Hello, everybody,
I have a problem that I can't get Windows 10 Pro installed on my H2 Rev. B (current build of MS(MediaCreationTool)).
It installs Windows 10 normally and on the first startup inaccessible boot device appears.
I have created the USB stick with Rufus.
I have also followed several instructions to fix the bootloader. (UEFI boot is new to me)
The strange thing is that when i type bcdboot /scanos i get a 0 as result but the windows directory is there with all the data in it.
did anyone here have this problem and got it fixed?
I used the ForumSearch but dont find any news for me :/
EDIT:
I forgot.
A Samsung 1TB 850 Prof. SSD is used for the OS
Greetings

Hello and thanks for your answer.
I have changed the setting, unfortunately without any change.
The problem remains.

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Can you see your NVMe storage in the BIOS?
Advanced -> NVMe Configuration
My device shows "SAMSUNG MZVLB256HAHQ-0000" on that screen.

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Ahh.. your storage is an SATA type and it must work without BIOS configuration.
We tested this Windows (30 days trial) a few months ago and there was no issue.
Edition : Windows 10 Pro
Version : 1903
OS build : 18362.239

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
unfortunately it does not work for me :/
Ubuntu is running, but Windows is not
I reset the bios now to default values.
Then I start the installation again.
If that does not work, there is still an idea what the reason could be.
As said the installation only works the start after the installation does not work.
Did you test the Rev. B as well?

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Yes! we tested it with Rev-B.
We used only MS MediaCreationTool not Rufus.
MediaCreationTool created USB memory stick was okay for the UEFI compatibility.

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Very weird.
Since I2C/SMB devices are working with only Linux, there might be no solution probably.
Can you tell me which devices show the yellow mark?
Are you running Windows 10 Pro version 1909 with the latest updates?

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
Good morning,
I now have no more missing drivers.
2 screens are now also working.
Are there BIOS settings to improve the graphics performance?
Videos don't really run well with a UHD setting.
Greetings

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
How much drives do you have connected to H2 (install media and SSD or do you have any other drive connected to it?) What happend when you disconnect install media after instalation and tries to boot? Do you see BIOS or some error from Windows Boot Manager. If you see error from Windows Boot Manager what is the error code?
If you have connected multiple drives (for example two disks) and you see error 0xC000000E, the issue is that windows installer installed EFI system partition with bootloader to the second drive and AMI BIOS initialize only disk with bootloader, not all disks. So when your computer boots, it will initialize only disk with EFI with Windows Boot Manager and when Windows Boot Manager tries to boot it will fail because system is on second drive which is unavalaible for it. Solution is discconect all other drives when installing Windows.

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
If you install two DRAM memory modules, you might have slightly(10~20%) better GPU performance.DasBiberlein wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 10:16 pmAre there BIOS settings to improve the graphics performance?
How much video RAM did you assign in the BIOS?
Which program do you use for testing the video performance?

Try to install the latest UHD drivers from Intel Website, they made some performance improvements in this version compared to the default windows 10 versionDasBiberlein wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 10:16 pmGood morning,

I think I have allocated 512 MB of RAM if I used the right settings.
Currently I have only 8GB RAM installed and I will probably order a second one today.
It was only YouTube and Twitch where I tested this.
Currently I have the resolution on 1920x1024, so everything runs fine.
in everything you have done a really good job with the H2. I love my H2!!!
i hope you continue this approach and build even better x86 miniPC's

I have tested your idea and replaced the Windows drivers with the direct ones from Intel.brad wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:50 am

It didn't really bring more performance.
But I am a fan of native drivers from the manufacturer.

Thanks for your tip!

Re: Windows 10 Pro and the H2
