Generating OS image with ODROID-STAMPER

Unread post by tobetter » Thu Dec 26, 2019 10:15 pm

This is my yet another experimental project.

ODROID-STAMPER is a shell script tool to generate the OS image for ODROID-XU4 and -N2 and this tool will generate an OS as an image file or selected storage on your Debian/Ubuntu desktop or ODROID SBC. I was improving the features whenever I have time and started to run in Petitboot. It's still INCOMPLETE and not luck to run with Petitboot due to lack of technical capability but opening it, at least you could build your custom OS image with this or can contribute to improving it. Always welcome if you can contribute it.

You have my highest respect for that 185MB/s transfer speed. Are you using a local server with 2G interfaces in a bundle? Such speeds are hard to pull off, even with bundles.

Other than that, great tool! I hope it makes it easier for HK to build official images. You could add a postinstall directory with custom scripts that get called before unmounting the image for greater customizability.

185MB/s? I think it's the speed to create dummy local file to store OS images, not the network bandwidth. For the custom scripts, there is a directory fixup that has many scripts to be run in the OS directory while generating the image. Maybe that could help the user can add or modify the root file system after the genuine OS files are installed.

I always welcome your suggestions.
