Bluetooth dongle defective?

Post by toffler19 »

I got a Bluetooth module to use with Android on my C2 but I've been unable to set it up. Every time I try to turn Bluetooth on from Android settings I get a "Unfortunately, Bluetooth share has stopped" pop up and the only way to get rid of that is by disconnecting the dongle. The Bluetooth dongle works perfectly on pc (windows and linux) and it's listed with lsusb command on Android terminal. Maybe I'm missing some configuration files? I'm running last Android update (6.0.1) help please

See if it needs to be enabled in odroid-config. It does on the N2, don't remember on the C2.
Also, what BT dongle do you have? The official one? It needs to be BT4 at least.

I have the official Bluetooth dongle CSR8510 chip.
I wouldn't know how to use odroid-config in Android. Odroid utility app doesn't list anything related to Bluetooth connection either

Sorry, I meant to say Odroid Utility. It means that it's enabled by default. No idea why it doesn't work...

Did you flash this OS image?

We tested the same Bluetooth dongle in the middle of November and it worked fine with a Bluetooth speaker.

Yes. It's the last update, even tried with other version (lollipop) and nothing. I tried changing MAC address on both the dongle with bdaddr tool and the OS with Setedit app because I found out they don't match. I guess I'll try using another dongle and see if the problem persist cause I don't know what else to try

Connect the dongle to your Linux PC (or even a Windows PC) to narrow down root causes.
