can somebody pls give me the code to save an image of an sd-card pls

dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=~/backup.img bs=2M status=progress
The path of the card may be different but that's the way.

bs is block size, 2M is 2 megabyte
status=progress will show the procedure progress in real time

what if i have a sd-card in a usb reader it has 2 partition`s on it would i just use for E.G /dev/sda

my mem fails me again..i used to do it easy ..getting od ...how R U @rooted...soz i was not around at the time,,u know what i mean..phase

If it's sda and sda1, then sda is the entire disk and sda1 is only the partition on the disk.
