Animation Logo Android in Odroid C2
Hello friends,
Does anyone know how to change the animated android logo that appears when the OS boots?
In the wiki, it only appears as changing the Hardkernel logo.
The board is an Odroid C2 with Android 6.0.1
Thanks a lot!

Usually, the boot animation file should be in either /system/media/bootanimation.zip or /oem/media/bootanimation.zip, Android boot animator look up in the order and it plays if any.matec.89 wrote:Hello friends,

thanks for answering!
If I saw both locations, but nowhere do I have the file.
Is it just replacing it? Characteristics of the gif format?

You can try out the instruction from here, I've not tried since Android Jellybean - so old - but basically the way how boot animation is the same.matec.89 wrote:thanks for answering!

Re: Animation Logo Android in Odroid C2
I've been doing this for over 30 builds but suddenly I can't write the bootanimation.zip to the media folder, permissions denied. Using es file manager, and I have root settings turned on. Anyone have an idea why this suddenly happened?

If you have an original image which is enough resolution for 720P, you can load it and save as BMP format with GIMP or Paint.maxderoswell wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 2:18 amThank you, I follow the link but I am not be friend with the graphic soft.

When you said you pressed Enter during boot and nothing happened - were you connected via serial to the board?

It's a kind to speak.
It's not easy for me.
I'm in difficulty with this extract
"Android
On Android, you can replace boot logo with your custom image.
There are two ways to change boot logo image.
Add a image into VFAT partition.
Rewrite image data into Android LOGO partition using fastboot.
1. VFAT
Copy the new boot-logo.bmp (or boot-logo.bmp.gz) to VFAT partition.
2. Android Logo Partition
If you want to replace logo data in logo partition, please follow this guide.

And execute fastboot command from U-Boot and connect with your desktop using micro USB cable.

Re: Animation Logo Android in Odroid C2
Then, let's try this.
https://wiki.odroid.com/troubleshooting ... ll#windows
https://www.getdroidtips.com/how-to-ins ... n-windows/
You install ADB driver to your laptop as well as fastboot.
Once Android is started on your ODROID-C2, do run adb shell from your laptop and see if you can get into the command shell of Android. If you can do this and get some logs with adb command, do run adb reboot fastboot. This command will switch your ODROID-C2 to fastboot mode after reboot. Then you can run the fastboot command from your laptop, fastboot flash logo <your boot logo file name> and see what logs you have. If it says something OKAY then do run fastboot reboot. This will reboot your ODROID-C2 and if your logo file is decent format, then it will display new logo.
In summary, from your laptop, you need to run these commands one after another.
Code: Select all
> adb reboot fastboot
> fastboot flash logo <your boot logo file name>
> fastboot reboot

Re: Animation Logo Android in Odroid C2
I will try as you said but before, it's necessary to order a USB UART module.
I will run the C2 with the main power supply, before connect it to laptop, a jumper must be change on the C2 ?
Thank you

Re: Animation Logo Android in Odroid C2
Putting a jumper is only necessary if you want to make ODROID_C2 get power through USB OTG port and not necessary if you use DC power jack.maxderoswell wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 7:24 amI will try as you said but before, it's necessary to order a USB UART module.
I will run the C2 with the main power supply, before connect it to laptop, a jumper must be change on the C2 ?
Thank you
If you can success to run adb command from your laptop to your ODROID-C2, USB UART module is not necessary for your case. Obviously it would be helpful if you have USB UART module. IMHO, I think the USB UART module won't help you a lot if you just need to use it to switch to fastboot since eventually you have to make adb and fastboot work on your laptop. The right tool for you is eMMC Card Reader, not USB UART module, that helps you to copy the logo file to eMMC from your laptop directly.
Again, I strongly suggest making adb and fastboot run with your ODROID-C2.
Another option that comes in my mind just now is, open a terminal from Android and run mount | grep mmc command. Then share the picture of it.

I had follow your advice and it's ok.The right tool for you is eMMC Card Reader, not USB UART module, that helps you to copy the logo file to eMMC from your laptop directly.

The eMMC Card Reader convert the eMMC nand into a usb key.
The VFAT partition can be explored.
I had place the boot-logo.bmp directly inside the VFAT partition.
I have again a bug. In the beginning of the start the boot logo is showed on the top of the screen with the bad resolution.
I can make a video for show it.

Hello everyone,
just by curiosity, is it possible to use this Renault animation on another device ?
I think to this product : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Android-8-0-DAB ... %7Ciid%3A1
The resolution on this device is 1024x600, the renault bootanimation is in 1280x800, is it necessary to mod something before use it ?
Thank you so much
Mathieu
