ODROID-H2 compatible NVMe cards

Unread post by venkatbo » Sat Oct 26, 2019 1:37 am

Checked the wiki - it appears we don't have a list of compatible M.2 NVMe PCIe 2.0 x 4 "cards" - like we have for RAM.

I'm seeing 2 ADs: The Intel 660p card seems to be compatible, but both seem to be classified as "SSDs"... and the H2 product page says SSDs are not supported... confused...

Any recommendations ?
Looking for 128/256/512 GB NVMe cards.

the second is not PCIe, he sata - ODROID-H2 is not supported SATA SSD in the M.2 M connector.
only PCIe SSD supported, and also not all of them supported NVMe

very small life time - only 100 Terabyte Written (TBW = Total Bytes Written)

life time is calculated as:

with a capacity of 500GB (0.5TB) and 100TBW, DWPD ~ 100GB (0.1TB) Written per Day, within 5 years
with a capacity of 500GB (0.5TB) and 300TBW, DWPD ~ 300GB (0.3TB) Written per Day, within 5 years
i.e. life time for a capacity of 500GB, TBW 100 is 100GB per day and TBW 300 is 300GB per day, within 5 years

I am using my H2 with one 760p M.2 SSD (256 GB capacity). 660p M.2 SSD should also work fine. I guess any M key SSD should work. I put one 512 GB M.2 SSD in my desktop.

I've used a Kingston NVME memory from several months ago and it worked fine.

Code: Select all

odroid@h2:~$ sudo nvme list
Node SN Model Namespace Usage Format FW Rev
---------------- -------------------- ---------------------------------------- --------- -------------------------- ---------------- --------
/dev/nvme0n1 5002********BDFD KINGSTON SA1000M8240G 1 240.06 GB / 240.06 GB 512 B + 0 B E8FK11.L
But I'm not sure if it is the exactly same model in your link or not.
