Unread post by peti634 » Sat Oct 05, 2019 6:04 am

Hi,

I bough the Odorid-N2 4GB, and experiensed that the android system (Offical N2, LineageOS 16) is running too slow.

I run the system from an sdcard (class 10), mind it be the problem, would it be better to run it from eMMC?

I atteach the video.
Looking forwart to hearding from u.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards
Peti

If your SD card is Class10 UHS-1 with U3 grade, it will show you an acceptable performance.
"Samsung EVO Plus" and "Sandisk Extreme" were okay.

But the eMMC is always faster and more stable.

Of course, running the OS from EMMC is much faster than from any MicroSD card.

I had the same problem. Apps / System not responding, especially when using any web browser. I bought a 16gb emmc off eBay and now it runs just fine.
Once in a while the youtube app crashes the whole system (sound hangs and the system reboots itself), but that is a problem of the Lineage OS 16 I think.

Strongly suggest using eMMC instead of uSD to run Android, since Android system itself is time-sensitive. ODROID is not Android certified device, therefore Youtube App would be crash or unstable whilst Youtube on a browser probably is ok.

The crashes seem to be a bug regarding video playback, as it is also described in viewtopic.php?f=178&t=35431
