I have no idea indeed.
But I can guess your H2 will not boot if the BIOS ROM is corrupted.

I've heard about a tool called HackBGRT that lets you change Windows UEFI boot logo. But I personally haven't tried it so not sure if it works.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
I dug a bit deeper.
The tools are exist. There also resource named Logo.jpg in ihe rom, that can be changed with another jpeg with minor hex editing.
But there is two things that makes this mod impossible:
1. UEFI images are checksum protected. So modified rom will not boot.
2. There is no advanced uefi recovery in H2 hardware, device is perfectly simple. So restoration of the failed UEFI is possible only by an external programmer, i believe. With desoldering or external clamp and a lot of hurts.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Try to download Intel Integrator Toolkit. Please test and feedback if it's compatible with H2. You can change the UEFI boot logo.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Tried both solutions:
Replacig jpeg gives checksum error.
Intel Integrator Toolkit is a no go also.
It reports: "Unable to query system capabilities."

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Is the issue flashing the bios once modified or it failing to boot once modified and flashed? I have a programmer and clip sitting around from needing it to unlock advanced features in my acer bios and unlocking voltages for the nvidia card in it. Also never hurts to have a backup to flash back in times of trouble haha. Worked great for it, perhaps reading, modifying, and programming back via clip could help it along.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
When booting on a UEFI-based computer, Windows may show a vendor-defined logo which is stored on the UEFI firmware in a section called Boot Graphics Resource Table (BGRT). It's usually very difficult to change the image permanently (BIOS file must be signed by OEM), but a custom UEFI application may be used to overwrite it during the boot. HackBGRT does exactly that.
https://github.com/Metabolix/HackBGRT
{Feature Request:}
Hardkernel should consider updating the logo with a BMP 24-bit Bitmap format image (672px x 378px) with black background. This would greatly enhance the cosmetics of the boot process in Windows 10 and also in the soon to be released Ubuntu 19.10 Plymouth flickerfree boot.

We tested your image. Many people in our office like it.
But the edge of the HK logo looks not to be clean. Something like a paper tearing...
Is it an intended design?

It can be improved if the original transparent logo image is available.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
We will share a logo graphics file with transparent background.
The format will be AI adobe-illustrator. Is it okay?
But the logo background should not be black.

Yes, share the ai file as well as png. Logo should retain original identity.

Please check the AI format first and let me know if it is okay or not.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
It looks nice.
We will include it in the next BIOS update.
BTW, is there any specific reason to use 672x378 resolution instead of default 800x600/1024x768?
Is that strange resolution is recommended by Windows and Plymouth boot splash screen?

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Really appreciated! Yes the 672x378 resolution is important. There are three items in the standard to be catered for in the flicker-free-boot (see image below): OEM logo, spinner, and OS logo

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Great! Thank you for your contribution and confirmation.
We could see a nice boot splash on Windows 10 too.
We will use this BIOS image for the next batch production in October.

Could owners of H2 Rev B safely use this 1.08 BIOS version?
Currently only listed 1.07 on the wiki page.
Thanks.

Re: How to change boot UEFI logo?
Yes, you can.
We've tested it.
We will update the WiKi page in early October since we have a plan to make another BIOS image for better DRAM compatibility.
