Tips:

To enable GPS support
add this property to /vendor/build.prop (adb remount vendor)

Code: Select all

persist.disable_location=false
also change this lines according your GPS dongle

Code: Select all

ro.kernel.android.gps=ttyACM0
ro.kernel.android.gps.speed=9600
I will add this to Odroid settings in next build.

I noticed that a process is working faster than before. Interesting to check numbers of it. How did they go to this?

So far so good ...
One thing I found - then I turn "Use WiFi, cellular location" switch, it turns off "Use Location"

UPDATE: ... Arghh ... in location services -> "Google Location Service" -> Improve location should be on

Does it support wakeup and shutdown via button? I'm planning to test this to see if the GPS works. If it does I'd stick with it.

I'm speaking of the hardware power button on GPIO as explained on the wiki:

Hi Voodik,

Nice job as always. Had a fun afternoon installing and setting up.
On your next update can you enable the Function Keys as HardKernel have done in Odroid Settings? Ben uses these to soft shutdown via terminal and to launch the Nav App in his car PC set up.
I notice that when playing from iPhone via a2dp sink there is no track name or performer or album info displayed. Can this be addressed?

Many thanks for all your efforts.

Hi Chris,
Gps HAL lib which used in this build does not depend Vid/Pid. It need to be configured as described in second post.

Hi Mark,

1. I will try to add shortcut setting in next release. BTW in Odroid Misc Settings we have a property to disable shutdown confirmation
and this command from terminal do the trick ;)

Code: Select all

input keyevent --longpress KEYCODE_POWER
2. Found some bug according AVRCP will be fixed in next update. But as i know AOSP does not have native UI to display AVRCP information.
After little googling found this widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... dget&hl=en
Tested and it's work! Controls on widget also working!))

P.S.
if you know better solutions for displaying media track information on Android let us know))

Regards.

Hi voodik,

a huge Thanks for the new gapps-free version LOS.

NO-gapps LOS with N2 is the best pairing I've ever used, thanks to You and HK.

It seems to be faultless so far, when used on an eMMC.
I have only a small problem - which could be my fault as well - but when I write it to sd card (Etcher, Win32DiskImager + SDFormatter) and not to the eMMC, I get always the following message: "Issue with sd card, Tap to fix". Regardless of this message everything works (in case of using eMMC there are no messages anyway) This message cannot be deleted, because when you select it as a portable storage, it wants to format the sd card.(format the boot partition)
I tested this with more sd cards (Sandisk Ultra 32GB, Sandisk Extreme 32GB, Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB, Sandisk Extreme Plus 32GB, Samsung Evo Plus 32GB). These have not any problem with ubuntu and hk droid.

Ps: I am not able to send "beer" via the link, (ppal doesn't allow it), but if I could get a email in pm, I would invite You for some of it. :)

Found, i miss this commit.

I will merge it in next build. Thanks for reporting.

@voodik: look into getting a revolut card/account. You can receive transfers from other revolut users and pay with the card when you need to. It's free, but may not be available in your country...

Update :!:

Code: Select all

20190811 Alpha-v0.5
*Fixed "Issue with sd card, Tap to fix" messages when ROM installed on SD card.
*Fixed Updater fails when ROM installed on SD card.
This version updatepackage is 'two-step' OTA package, where recovery is updated first,
so that any changes made to the system/vendor partition are done using the new recovery.
Update process reboots the system 3 times, so do not interrupt it!

Hi voodik,

Thanks for the update.

Both the eMMC and the sd card works without the "Tap to fix .." message excellent - if they are separately in N2.
However, if the 2 cards (eMMC-Ubuntu, sdcard-LOS) are together, the problem with LOS reappears.

Yes, i see, so i need little update sd card boot detection logic.
I will try to find solution in next build.

Hi Voodik,

For your information, I was in the version 0.4 (with Google Play), I did a automatic update, them the Google Play and Chrome, start to have fails.
I tried to install version 0.5 ng, and install google play, the gapps.zip (pico) installation failed. I returned to version 0.4 with Google Play, it is working very well.
Your repository is missing version 0.5 with Google Play.

thank you

Yes, u r right, i wrongly upload No Gapps updatepackage to Gapps based folder.
Re-uploaded.

i will make some name conversion in future release. That updater automatically cannot install wrong version.

Alright I was able to test this thoroughly and so far it runs perfect.
- The Ublox8 receiver (01a8) works now!
- Wifi scans and connects much faster than on the official build (I'm using the Wifi 5 module)

Improvements I could think of so far:
- Power button on navigation bar
- Removal of battery icon.

Issues:
- Got strange flickering (black bar, doesn't affect the navbar) in the lower third of the screen whenever a notification pops up. Flickering stays for a longer period and then disappears somehow
--> Using Vu7a+, 1080p60hz
--> Doesn't always happen and might be related to a whole lot of notifications popping up right now because of play services.
//EDIT: Issue never happened after play services settled. It's most likely provoked by the many notifications it spawned.

Since everything works as expected, I'll put it now on a long term test now.

Hello, I have a couple requests. My monitor is in portrait mode but the screen rotation setting does not persist across reboots. Also the soft nav bar does not scale in portrait mode, so the power button on x1080 cannot be clicked. Please advise.

Great news! I'll test this today.

One more question: Why is the option missing from odroid settings to launch an app via the F-keys?

So I managed to render the system unbootable by changing the display resolution to VU7a plus using odroid settings app...
The hardkernel logo is displayed, then black, then white, then the bootloader says it can't boot android.
i then changed the hdmimode to something that should work but no luck.

Here's the boot.ini in its current state:

Is this lineage version 32bit or 64bit?
32bit
Aww, I was hoping for 64bit. The mobile version of Fortnite was compiled for ARM64 and won't run on a 32bit version of Android.

Hi, I can't see anything.
On first boot, for just an istant I saw the hardkernel logo, then nothing more.
The blue led is pulsing, so it must be something related to my setup.
My n2 is directly attached to my tv (an lg led tv at 1080p).
Lineage is installed on emmc and on booting petitboot recognize andoid pie on it.

Why Petitboot ? Don't you have SPI switch in eMMC position for direct boot ?

It boots, both with switch on spi (petitboot) and on mmc.
The blue led is pulsing in both ways.

@voodik: look into getting a revolut card/account. You can receive transfers from other revolut users and pay with the card when you need to. It's free, but may not be available in your country...
Thanks!
Still only EU countries are supported(

Are we talking about making a payment to you in Russia ? If so maybe one of these in this article?

I would also like to donate ... Your rom is perfect (for my use case:-)) and I would like to show my appreciation as well :)
