Hi,

Is HD-Audio (dolby truehd/dtshd-ma) passthrough supported?
I've manually enabled all surround sound options in audio settings, but KODI still can't passthrough hdaudio..

Looks great. Noticed than when using the volume up key either on a keyboard or in the remote app, it's also interpreted as the back button. Volume down might be in conflict with another button as well.

Sorry for taking a while. I verified this is still happening on ATV and not on the standard odroid rom. It's only volume up, not down, and more specifically it's not JUST the button press. I can press it once to summon the volume slider (without changing volume) and it doesn't trigger a back button press, but as soon as I press it again to actually commit a volume up change, that's when it happens.

pastebin here - https://pastebin.com/7jFyebqW

As you can see it's not too exciting. The full dump (PM me if you want it) shows the following though in one section - https://pastebin.com/SH1QR5cb

So on a hunch I disabled CEC in odroid settings, and the issue stopped. CEC was enabled on the stock rom without the same result though, so I'm not sure why there's a behavior change here.

Thanks, and take care!

Android TV have a verry limited touch support. E.g. you can't use onscreen keyboard with touches. So prefer use some input devices(keyboard, mouse, remote)

Can you try this tool to set Odroid BT mac address in your PS3 DS controller ?
http://dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxis- ... spairtool/

You can find your Odroid Bluetooth mac address:
Settings > Device preferences > About > Status> Bluetooth address

After setting proper mac address just disconnect USB from controller and push PS button.

The special idc config file is needed to make ps3 ds controller working proper. I try to find some ov them and send to you for test. After you confirm is it ok i will add it to next build.

Hi Voodik, any thoughts on the CEC issue? I also noticed that the system does not recover cleanly from sleep.

Update :!:

Code: Select all

20190812 Alpha-v0.4
* Fixed Updater fails when ROM installed on SD card.
* Fixed Bluetooth AVRCP Controller (Disable, re-enable Bluetooth Sink from Odroid Settings then reboot)
* Add Gamepads keylayout files
* Add Shutdown without confirmation settings
* Lineage merge with upstream (android-9.0.0_r44 -> android-9.0.0_r46)
* Minor fixes
This version updatepackage is 'two-step' OTA package, where recovery is updated first,
so that any changes made to the system/vendor partition are done using the new recovery.
Update process reboots the system 3 times, so do not interrupt it!

Using 20190812 alpha 4 image, I am unable to connect to WiFi. I can enter the password but when I go to click "Done" or "Next", I cannot press the button on the screen. I tried installing the Android TV keyboard and it still doesn't work. I did select it as the keyboard in settings.

Ethernet works fine but I need to get the WiFi adapter working. Is there some trick to getting the password to register?

Thanks!

EDIT: It turned out that I didn't have the Android TV keyboard selected. I changed this and was able to connect via WiFi.

Thanks for these roms, I don't have my device yet but have messed with android rom flashing in the past. It is often the case that many apps are unable to be downloaded
from the play store from an unknown device. How does that work with this rom. Are most of the android tv apps available (netflix, hulu, prime, etc. Or should one plan on doing
a lot of sideloading?

Thanks

Is this place just pretty dead? Any other sites that are more active in regards to these devices?

You have to grab the Android ID of the device and register it as detailed above for Google Apps to work correctly. I had to root the device first (also detailed above). After waiting about an hour, I restarted the N2 and was able to install PLEX through the Google Play application. I assume the other apps you mentioned will install as well.

One thing -- I had to sideload the Android TV keyboard as mentioned above in order to enter in my wireless credentials. That's the only app I had to sideload. Before doing that, I could enter the password but got stuck on that screen, unable to press Enter/OK/Next.

Thank you for the reply, I will look through all of that when the time comes. I just ordered my device from Ameridroid and its just a pre-order for now. I will study up on flashing soon. The eMMC I ordered has Android on it but its just regular pie so need to start fresh.

Oh, one more thing. I had Netflix installed on my C2 running Android. Apparently, Netflix disables HD video when the device isn't "trusted" (I'm not sure of the proper terminology here). So you might not get the highest resolution unless somehow registering the Android ID takes care of that?

I haven't been able to verify this yet but I could give it a shot if you're interested.

EDIT: This may have to do with rooting the device. I don't see why you couldn't switch it back. I don't know if that's what the problem was or not. The C2 image I used was rooted already.

There actually has to be a certification with the device to use drm to get proper netflix in HD. I expect that not to work. But I will be dual booting with corelec with has a netflix plugin and they have I believe level one of the drm, which enables 1080p (but not 4k).

Would be neat if somehow that certification/drm that is used with coreelec could also be used with android on the N2.

If you can install Kodi 18.3 on this rom, then the same (as on CoreElec) Netflix addon will give you same options. Mentioned addon mimics Chrome browser for DRM and does not need certified Android box for 1080p software decoded video.

thx for this snappy Lineage ATV ROM @voodik :D

A few notes for this Android TV ROM and issues I found:

I cannot get any screen HK boot or otherwise to display on my 4K TV. Had to use a 1080p only monitor for setup and Updates.

This may be related to the /odm/boot.ini that has:

setenv colorattribute "444,12bit"

changed it to

setenv colorattribute "444,8bit"

which should be highly compatible with all displays. this also corresponds with the latest HK Android boot.ini:
https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-n2/os_im ... e_20190820

Netflix:

Kodi Leia's Netflix Addon will not work, at least for me.

If users want 960x540p Netflix this touchscreen App works (airmouse needed):
https://netflix.en.uptodown.com/android ... ad/1922488

You can also Download Netflix content with this App which is encoded using vp9 - 960x540

Some build.prop mods might be need vs the vanilla one in this ATV ROM release.

First of all, thank you for this ROM.

I have installed it without any issues and everything worked fine until first reboot. After this, I always get message that Ethernet is not connected. However, it is physicaly connected and port blinks. When I reboot to other OS-es, (CoreELEC, EMUElec) Ethernet works without issues.

I tried several reboots, reset to factory settings but no help, connection is dead.

Do you have any idea what I could do? I don't know if it is related but I am booting using Pettitboot.

Hi,
I'm a (happy) CoreElec user, but I didn't like how kodi manages streaming providers (Netflix, Prime Video and so on). There are workarounds, but I like much more theirs native android apps.
What I don't understand is if the process described in the first post by Voodik
For Google apps please read this.
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
Also after you register your Android framework ID, please wait some time (30-60 minutes) then reboot Odroid and try to add Google Account.
works with the Netflix's drm certification, and by that if the n2 is capable to run netflix at higher resolutions using hardware video decoding.
Did someone test this?
Thanks

No Android on the N2 is NOT able to do better than 960x540p using HW acceleration and the tablet Netflix App link I posted above. ^^^^^

Android on the N2 has neither Widevine L1 or Microsoft PlayReady DRM (needed for Amazon Prime) or any HDCP keys either.

The Android Kodi Leia Netflix Addon does not work for me either.
Android Kodi does not download Google Widevine binaries like the CoreELEC / Linux versions of Kodi Leia do and that is why there are Android Kodi Netflix issues.

This is strange, after having issues with "Ethernet not connected" few days ago, I have started LineageOS again and everything works fine now :? :? :? :?

I hope that it will stay this way.

Anyway, ROM works gret, very responsive.

Thanks for the rom I got up and running in no time. One question; in the Odroid settings I can't toggle the 420 color setting. It was off, the circle was unchecked, I turned it on as I was testing things out, but hitting it again just highlights the setting and then nothing happens.

Is there a way to untoggle this setting without resetting everything?

Looks great. Noticed than when using the volume up key either on a keyboard or in the remote app, it's also interpreted as the back button. Volume down might be in conflict with another button as well.
Which remote app are you using ?
