Re: CoreELEC
I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it restarted seemingly without issue.
I'm going to restore the card(will try other cards as well) back to the state it was in before the upgrade, and try again with a serial console attached.

Re: CoreELEC
I have exactly the same on my odroid C2.cdu13a wrote:Upgrade to CoreELEC 8.90.3 from CoreELEC 8.90.0 fails at Starting Journal Service.
Upgrading from 8.90.2 to 8.90.3.
Only thing thas was possible was flashing 8.90.3 on emmc then restore backup.
After that netflix is crashing soon as i open netflix.
Then i rebooted THE system and after that THE same issue on boot screen again.
Installed 8.90.2 and everyyhing is running fine.
I think something is really wrong with this build on odroid C2.
@ raybuntu did you test this on your odroid c2??

Re: CoreELEC
It keeps doing it, somewhat randomly.
I've not taken a close look at it yet but here is what I get from the serial console https://pastebin.com/qDF66zZa
Also unrelated I found that if you try to play a game and then try to watch any video, it will tell you it can't find the emulator.

Re: CoreELEC
Has anyone else noticed that their C2 runs a lot hotter when using 8.90.3 compared to previous releases?
I've gone from about 48c at idle to 70c at idle. This is on two different C2.
It looks like kodi might be part of the cause since it is sitting around 50% cpu usage now when on previous version it was at around 16% when doing nothing with the screen off.

Re: CoreELEC
Doesn't make a difference.
I have two identically configured C2 both fresh installs of 8.90.3 with largish libraries, about a foot apart. One screensaver set to dim(same as I had on 8.90.0) one with screen saver turned off. Both are at 70c right now. Both show about the same usage. I don't know the room temp, but I have a third C2 running it's original 8.90.0 about a foot over from the two that are running the newer version that is at 46c.

Re: CoreELEC
Kodi using that much CPU is a big part of the issue, question is why is it doing that.
Have you tried a fresh install, no add-ons? Narrow it down a bit further.
Is the governor set to performance or ondemand?

Re: CoreELEC
In the process of prepping new cards right now.
Plan is fresh install, with nothing more then setup wizard run.
Then walk through the setup step by step with a 30 minute break between steps, until I get a spike.
However, add-on wise everything comes from the default repos, and it's pretty much youtube, vimeo, yahoo weather, and studio icons.
So nothing crazy there.
*edit*
governor is set ondemand
*edit*
I pretty much leave CoreELEC as it comes. So have not gone changing much, it's local database, no advanced settings or anything under the hood modified.
Normally I have one C2 running it, mostly just as a way to see what is happening with other peoples builds, and as a reference to my own builds.

Re: CoreELEC
Fresh install, no configuration, no library, and it's 66c.
Part way through testing, I realized the cause might have been staring me in the face on the release notes page this whole time. They changed the default for algorithmdirtyregions, and it took my brain multiple days and multiple readings to clue in that dirtyregions under fixes in the release notes meant the dirty-region processing algorithm for the gui and not something to do with dvd/blueray/etc.. region encoding.
change the setting, and temps back to normal.
and, I think I'm done with technology for the day, since my brain is clearly not up to it right now.

Is it possible/advisable to overclock the C2 CPU with 8.90.3? I tried changing
setenv max_freq "1536"
to
setenv max_freq "1752"
but the max cpu frequency didn't change after rebooting

while updating CoreElec to new version, Is there a way to prevent partition renaming?
I have an emmc with Android, ubuntu and CoreElec.
Everytime I update CoreElec it breaks it all due to partition renaming it does.
Thank you.

Re: CoreELEC
Hey.
The temp problem and CPU usage in 'CoreELEC' is about dirtyregions. And the Netflix should be updated to a newer version, the it will run normal.
dirtyregions. ( You can change algorithmdirtyregions in /storage/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml value to 3 )

I am having the Video stuttering issues with the latest build of Coreelec. it is very annoying,
Is there a solution yet? i have checked it in Default Settings as well as by overclocking with RAM and GPU Overclock also. But no use. GUI and responsiveness is faster. but the Video Stuttering at the Beginning and also in between is there.
I need a solution for this pls.

I am running CoreELEC 8.90.4 and am having problems with the HDHomerun PVR. When I first installed the PVR client it worked fine, after the update to 8.90.4 it is showing as incompatible. Can anyone help with this? Is there an alternate PVR I can use that is compatible with this build?
Thanks

I am use DVB-T2 - T230C2 (0572:C68A). TVHeadend with Tvheadend HTSP Client it working fine. Scan, watch tv is ok.
Issues is when want switch on the other channel, after watching tv 10 - 20+ min (I dont remember if issues is only for channel any mux or same mux too).
Tvheadend server is "stop". On websetting (Status Tab - Stream) i see still restart mux.
Tvheadend HTSP Client reports "no signal"
Helps is restart TVH server with client (occasionally) or restart ColeELEC (I must restart sometimes twice)
Issues is 8.90.2 - 8.90.4 (8.90.1 - I do not know)

Re: CoreELEC
I have been having a similar issue with tvheadend for a couple of years, but my issue is due to signal dropout of OTA (Antenna [Over The Air]) programming.
I'm not familiar with DVBT2, is it OTA?

There is VDR which is what some Kodi developers swear by, it certainly handles glitches in the stream more gracefully.
I'm not sure if there is a LE plug in for the server, there is a client plug in.

8.9.0.3, 8.9.0.4 and also 8.2.4.2 C2 version. All have the sync problem. And the Video hangs also. Unless I do pause and press play again, it won't play at all. Sometimes the video just ends playing eventhough it is not fully played till the end.rooted wrote:What build specifically?plikmuny wrote:I am having the Video stuttering issues with the latest build of Coreelec. it is very annoying,

This was not the case with previous versions of kodi 17 series. But kodi 18 is troubling. I don't know if it's really this version or the kernel or some patches.... Its really irritating....

I agree, so far Kodi 18 has been worse on all platforms AFAIK except perhaps PC where you wouldn't notice it.plikmuny wrote:8.9.0.3, 8.9.0.4 and also 8.2.4.2 C2 version. All have the sync problem. What I do is find a build that works best and stick with it until my plug-ins no longer work due to api changes.

Re: CoreELEC
I'm having random issues with CoreELEC (and also with LibreELEC) where video playback is stopped, the screen stays black for about 30 seconds and then I get thrown back to the Kodi menu.
The log file doesn't really help as it basically only states "Connection lost".
This happens randomly - sometimes it doesn't happen at all, sometimes it does happen every 5-10 minutes.
The Odroid as well as the NAS with the media on it is connected to the router.
I already tried the following:
* switch LAN cable to Odroid
* switch LAN cable to NAS
* switch router(!)
* switch SD card
Right now I'm wondering if it might be a temperature issue. I'm using a transparent case with some air openings on top. The room temperature while watching is around 29°C at the moment, after Kodi stopped playback it says its temperature is between 60°C and 66°C - what is your Odroids temperature when running FullHD or 4K?

Re: CoreELEC
You might need to remove J8 jumper to lower the temperature if you use the DC barrel for the power input path.
https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-c2/hardw ... wer_enable
Anyway, 60°C seems to be normal when a 4K video is playing.
How was the C2 blue LED status when you met the "Connection Lost"?

I'm using MicroUSB as power supply. Don't know about the blue LED, will have to check the next time this happens.
Here's an excerpt from the log files between video start and video end:
I did some research on the "CVideoPlayerAudio::Process - stream stalled", but didn't come up with anything helpful.
I'm also not sure about the "WARNING: ActiveAE - large audio sync error"... this happened with Dolby 5.1 as well as with Dolby Atmos (can't tell about dts right now).
Device .23 is my phone with the Yatse app.
Anything suspicious?

I'm also not sure about the "WARNING: ActiveAE - large audio sync error"... this happened with Dolby 5.1 as well as with Dolby Atmos (can't tell about dts right now).
Device .23 is my phone with the Yatse app.
Anything suspicious?
Edit: Just found this -> https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/solved ... alled/1071 trying it out now...
Edit 2: This seems to have done the trick!

Re: CoreELEC
Unfortunately, it did not work. The whole week I had no issues, but today it started again... couldn't watch one minute.
The blue light kept blinking happy as ever.
In 09_journal-cur.log I find the following at the time the "Read - Error( -1, 110, Connection timed out )" is thrown:
Any ideas are highly appreciated.

Re: CoreELEC
In case anybody hasn't noticed there was a new release of CoreELEC 8.95.0 https://github.com/CoreELEC/CoreELEC/releases
It's much improved over previous alpha releases.
Edit:
For anybody new to it. CoreELEC-Odroid_C2.arm-8.95.0.img.gz is the file you want for a fresh install on a C2

Re: CoreELEC
The latest version did not fix my problem. I still get the "stream stalled" followed by "Read - Error" and playback stop.
Do you think the C2 can be the cause of this issue?

Re: CoreELEC
Latest build was really unstable on my C2, Kodi kept crashing.
It worked better on an sd card install instead of eMMC. However, the Emby plugin could not finish syncing to my server because of all the hang ups so for now I gave up on it.
I tried both the 8.95.0 version and the 8.95.2 one.

Re: CoreELEC
Try re-downloading the 8.95.2 release. The initial upload of that release had problems, and was replaced.
If you try again log files would be helpful. (Use pastebin for the logs and provide a link to them instead of directly posting the logs to the forum.)

Re: CoreELEC
Ok, thanks, I’ll give it a shot and post some logs
LE:
Indeed, the re-uploaded image for 8.95.2 works - I had to use the beta emby addon as the stable one had missing deps.
The first sync crashed midway but restarting Kodi helped.
I installed the Netflix addon but playback is unwatchable unfortunately.
I'll keep testing!
Does it matter if I install on an eMMC module or an SD card? I used an SD card this time around.

Re: CoreELEC
Sadly, the CEC plugin crashes my Kodi, I really need CEC. I think that's what I was also experiencing before.
I used the keyboard to navigate after my latest install but when I switched to the remote Kodi started crashing.
Here are some logs:
https://pastebin.com/daSWq35a
https://pastebin.com/79QW6Jp3
I think this is my problem:
https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/lepota ... -cec/592/3
The down key sends poweroff signal. I am unable to stop it; I disabled lircd and eventlircd - same problem. Really annoying.
OK, blacklisting meson_ir seems to do the trick.
How can I remove the remote control configs?

Re: CoreELEC
If you make a blank rc_maps.cfg (just rename rc_maps.cfg.sample) in /storage/.config/ you will stop the ir remote control key maps from loading.
edit:
If you know which keymap is causing the conflict you can just replace it with a blank or edited file in /storage/.config/rc_keymaps, since anything placed there will override the defaults. The only difference in keymaps between LibreELEC and CoreELEC that I'm aware of is that libreelec_multi(/usr/lib/udev/rc_keymaps/libreelec_multi) contains extra remotes for other s905 based devices on CoreELEC. So creating a blank libreelec_multi file in /storage/.config/rc_keymaps or copying /usr/lib/udev/rc_keymaps/libreelec_multi there and editing out the extra remotes might be a better option.

Re: CoreELEC
Does CoreElec support mapping SMB version 2 or 3 shares? Or is it restricted to version 1 like many other Linux based platforms?

Re: CoreELEC
Is there a reason why didn't the nrpacks backport patch by hardkernel ( https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/com ... abc5731d88 ) make it to the coreelec builds?

I know that, but it still cherrypicks working patches from other sources (like the usbmulticam fix).
Is there a possibility of pulling also that one into the CE kernel? SInce the usb driver/usb audio is still foobar on 3.14.x, this one could really help usb dac users.
