Arm CPUs [that] are not vulnerable... include Cortex-A76, Cortex-A53, Cortex-A55, Cortex-A32, Cortex-A7 and Cortex-A5.

Hope the N3 is Cortex-A76

Re: N1 spectre or meltdown
Yes, thus "N3" is where hope lies... but pinning VMs, containers, etc to the small cores of a RK3399 seems like the best immediate solution.

Re: N1 spectre or meltdown
ug, conflicting info, I guess A55 is the best safe one then.
or the A53 24 core. The issue with the last link is it doesn't explicitly list the safe one minute just omits some.

Re: N1 spectre or meltdown
Note I'm commenting on the N2 in an N1 thread, but it was future looking so thought it was more on topic than the N2 mainline kernel thread you already found.

Oh, I hadn't noticed it was about N2. I thought mainline on N1 got magically easier. Last time I tried I had problems.

Re: N1 spectre or meltdown
Yah every so often I consider getting the N1 up (especially because I added passive cooling) but then I remind myself it's such a power hog, and we can't buy more, so I cut my financial/emotional losses and am happy with the N2.

Re: N1 spectre or meltdown
I'm happy with mine as a NAS with SATA drives. Also enabled docker support in the kernel. Has been rock solid, unlike the XU4 it replaced.
