Android image higher than 4.0

Unread postby milk » Sun Jul 17, 2016 6:34 pm

Hi all,

I searched a lot, but did not find an android image with gapps installed higher than 4.0 for sd card. There is robroy's pocket rocket that is Android 4.4.4 but eMMC only. The couch potato image is cool, but (4.0.4) I need a higher Android version.

I search for an image and not an updater.
Any recommandations?

best regards,
Daniel

If you searched a little longer on the forum, you would've found this thread viewtopic.php?f=94&t=9316
and do ctrl + f and type in ODROID-Updater, that should give you an idea on how to install 5.1 and 6.0

Hey Cartridge,

thank you for your answer. I am not familiar with the update install method, but this should not be the problem.
I have downloaded this image http://dn.odroid.com/4412/Android/4.4.4 ... /ODROID-U/
Afterwards I flahed the sd-installer image to my sd card.... Nothing, my odorid does not boot.

edit:
Now I also tried 4.4.4_v5.1 and 4.4.4_v4.5 sdcard_installer images
I flashed my sdcard under ubuntu using "dd if=... of=..."

Why does android not boot on my odroid?
The coach potato image worked...
What am I doing wrong?

edit2:
I was too impatient, booting just takes a while from sdcard.
ok, now I can go on.

sorry if I ask stupid questions ;)
recommandations?

regards
milk

The first booting might take several minutes due to self-installation process.
If it works fine, try to install the gapps(Google Play).

Thanks again.

I updated to CM 12.1 and had to flash the kernel as described by voodik in the CM 12.1 thread
to get the wifi working on a sd card image.

yay,
