[SOLVED] XU4 VNC

Unread post by lotar1958 » Sat Jul 18, 2015 6:57 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am having a problem with X11vnc... The resolution is too small and I was wondering if the Odroid have something similar to the Raspberry PI

Code: Select all

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
This option force the hdmi 1080p resolution even though there is no TV/Monitor attached into the PI.

Could someone let me know how I could achieve this?

Hello Phaseshifter,

Based on the info that you provided me, I commented out the resolution that I wanted in both locations

Code: Select all

/media/boot/boot.ini
and in

Code: Select all

/usr/share/bootini/boot.ini
but still, no luck :(

Code: Select all

the ine that is commented gives you that resolution so you have set it to 1920x1080...hence if you want the lower resolution ..eg 1024x768 only remove the hash from that setnv line of code this will give you a larger picture

what software are you using and only do the boot.ini file in the boot drive the Small partition that has 4 files in it

I was able to set the resolution that I wanted by doing

Code: Select all

x11vnc -geometry 1920x1120
Thanks again.

Hello. Commenting out a line in boot.ini didn't help me either. Where should I enter
x11vnc -geometry 1920x1080
?

I use Windows and there is no such command line option for TightVNC client. Adding -geometry 1920x1080 to X11VNC server command line options only scaled a low resolution picture. I finally managed to get the needed resolution by changing /etc/X11/xorg.conf, Section "Screen" part, into:

Code: Select all

Section "Screen"
     Identifier "Default Screen"
     Device "Mali-Fbdev"
     DefaultDepth 24
     SubSection "Display"
                            Virtual 1920 1080
     EndSubSection
EndSection
