Ha ! You will not believe, you need a plugin to use your joystick ! It is really hard to find, only the change log from Leia speaks about it https://kodi.wiki/view/Kodi_v18_(Leia)_changelog 1.4 Input System (Input Manager and Input APIs)

The Add-on source code is hosted here https://github.com/xbmc/peripheral.joystick I have compiled it and put it into the package and uploaded the new package on my server -> unbelievable, but now it works, I got my Wii U pro controller paired with bluez, tested -> works

    Code: Select all

    wget https://www.areascout.at/kodi/kodi_18.6~git20200308.1459-19d96e7623-dirty-1~bionic_all.deb

    sudo apt install ./kodi_18.6~git20200308.1459-19d96e7623-dirty-1~bionic_all.deb --reinstall

    Hello guys !
first of all, thanks for all this work !!

I received my odroid-xu4 yesterday and try this tuto from scratch. Find here my problems :
    - after installation, first time I launch kodi, I get :

    Code: Select all

/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libxcb-dri2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    so I run apt-get install libxcb-dri2-0
    - then, new error message

    Code: Select all

Unable to find path to Kodi data files!
I found that I need to launch with this command KODI_HOME=/usr/share/kodi/ kodi
    - this doesn't work either ... new error

    Code: Select all

ERROR: Unable to create application. Exiting
    and I'm stuck there
    here the kodi.log

    Code: Select all

Sorry but you did something wrong you forgot to install the kodi_18.6~git20200308.1459-19d96e7623-dirty-1~bionic_all.deb package, that's why you didn't get the libxcb-dri2-0 AND you had the Unable to find path to Kodi data files! error because the kodi_18.6 is the data files package.

I flashed a 18.04 Ubuntu minimal image followed the tutorial step by step and it worked immediately !

Here is the dump from install process of the kodi_18.6 file and you can see that libxcb-dri2-0 is installed automatically

      Hi Areascout,

after a while now I'm able to make some more "tests". I made a complete new install on my second XU4 (the other one is running perfectly at my parents home).
Now I use emby for my Media and here also everythings perfect! :D

Only one problem... I use Amazon Prime Video and I can not get the Widevine CDM to work. I installed it via the InputStream Helper Addon and the installation seems to work - Download, extraction...
After finishing extraction I get an info Window on top of the screen, saying that I have to type modprobe -r loop in Terminal console. I do so, but Videos in Amazon are not starting and an error Message appears that Widevine CDM is not installed. When I cancel it, Kodi crashes.

I applied a logfile when I install Widevine via InputStream Helper. Hope it helps...

      Cheers,
      Richy

        @Wondermusic

Did you add odroid user to /etc/sudoers ? If not please follow the first steps from the Netflix Add-on installation found on the first page, note that you have to add that line exactly on the same line number like in the example

        ok...
I checked everything again and the only thing that was different was the direction in the code. I got:

        Code: Select all

        # Allow members of group sudo to execute any command
        odroid ALL = NOPASSWD: /bin/umount, /bin/mount, /sbin/losetup, /sbin/modprobe
        %sudo	ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
        # See sudoers(5) for more information on "#include" directives:
Now I changed it to what you have written in den first post:

        Code: Select all

        # Allow members of group sudo to execute any command
        %sudo	ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
        odroid ALL = NOPASSWD: /bin/umount, /bin/mount, /sbin/losetup, /sbin/modprobe
        # See sudoers(5) for more information on "#include" directives:
I don't know why, but now it's working. :? (EDIT: I should read every word of your replies... You told it... "to add that line exactly on the same line number like in the example")
The step's for Netflix I have done while doing the fresh installation because I thought I'll need this phyton stuff for Amazon too.

Thanks for the fast Reply and again - great work on that!!! You are the best! :D

            Hi @AreaScout

I'm happy that new Kodi release comes.
My question is, will You compile kodi for debian Buster?

When You upload 18.6, I've been waiting for Buster compilation but didn't apear.

Now I'm wondering if I should install this release and fix missed debs manually or there is chance for debian release?

Yes, I do not have Debian buster running on one of my XU4's yet, my CS2 still has Debian stretch that's why there is no Kodi build yet for it, there are other things for me to do first, so you have to wait or build it for your own, sorry

              Hi,

I was able to make netflix and disney+ work for like a week, but now for some reason it doesn't work anymore (why, I don't know). I've resinstalled InputStream Helper but I still have the same the same error: I can scroll through the list of movies, but when I click on a movie, it doesn't load.
I've checked the Disney+ addons, it says there are three widevine:

              Code: Select all

              4.10.1503.4 LATEST
              4.10.1440.18
              Unknown 314486 INSTALLED
              I guess that

              Code: Select all

              Unknown 314486 INSTALLED
is the right one installed from @AreaScout deb
Though, I've tested with the two other ones, and I still get this message.

Also, I have noticed that once widevine is installled, I have a message that says that I should type

              Code: Select all

              modeprode -r loop
in my terminal. I tried lauching a movie with and without doing this command, I still have the same issue.

In my log, here is what I see when I launch the movie:

              Code: Select all

Two important things happen the last weeks with Netflix and co., first the Netflix plugin 1.4.1 was broken due to changes/updates on Netflix servers, this is fixed with Netflix plugin 1.5.0 and then all 1080p streams were broken for Netlfix, Amazon and co. so only 540p was possible, I don't know about Disney+ thought that one should work but if you do have problems with it better set the interval to check for new libwidevine to 1 day inside inputstream helper Add-on and update to latest, they have updated two times the library in the last days.

There is also a new fix for the 1080p problem in coming, if you read the issues page of the Netflix Add-on on github so please be patient

edit: Forget about inputstream helper for Disney+ Add-on, iirc that is not used to obtain the library, they have there own mechanism to install the library

                Great work Areascout!

I had it working fine, even complete with Netflix thanks to your instructions.

Just yesterday I did a apt update on my XU4 and now Kodi won't start anymore. .

                kodi

                Any clue?

                  @baaits

Try to reinstall the gbm video driver with

                  Code: Select all

                  wget https://www.areascout.at/kodi/mali-x11-gbm-fbdev_19.0.6-1_armhf.deb
                  sudo apt install ./mali-x11-gbm-fbdev_19.0.6-1_armhf.deb --reinstall

                  RG

                  Yes, you rock :P

                  That fixed it.

Now that I look back in the apt install history, the update yesterday indeed installed some newer versions of video driver
which must have broken the one you supplied.

Try sudo apt-mark hold mali-x11 so it doesn't update in the future.
