Android + ODroid + Touchscreen monitor

Unread postby jamesstringer » Tue Jun 13, 2017 5:12 pm

Hey there

I am hoping create a large touch screen tablet for my lounge, to enable me to control Spotify and other entertainment applications. I'm a total noob when it comes to ODroid though.

I understand the Dell S2240T (a pretty attractive monitor) http://www.giantandroidtablets.com/ has drivers for ODRIOD, but my question is are these still usable in the LineageOS-14.1 builds?

I have little experience in Android development other than using ADB to simply flash pre packaged ROMs and follow clear guides.

Is this a project worth perusing? Given the UX4 Chipset is present in the GS5, would that be an approximate estimate of performance?

My alternative to purchasing this additional hardware is just run the Monitor with an Intel Mini PC I already have, but believe Android will offer superior interface and ease of use.

Thanks for your help!

Dell S2240T should work out of the box with LineageOS-14.1 build.
