I guess the next questions is can we get a Mali driver that supports dma_buf? Even an older driver version for fbdev will work for me. However, an X11 only version will not.
Wasn't that the wayland binary blob, but I might be wrong, it's too long ago

I checked the binary in the first post ...

Code: Select all

wget https://www.areascout.at/kodi/mali-x11-gbm-fbdev_19.0.6-1_armhf.deb
and the binary from the ARM website:
https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-sof ... user-space
malit62xr12p004rel0linux1wayland.tar.gz
Neither reported the extension, and attempting to use it failed.

I seem to recall this working previously on XU4. Therefore, I do not know if its an issue with the library (libmali.so) or something in the kernel driver (/dev/mali0).

Yes, it could be that this was a kernel thing, look inside that kernel driver https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-sof ... ard-kernel the package there has example code TX011-SW-99002-r28p0-01rel0\driver\product\kernel\drivers\base\dma_buf_test_exporter\dma-buf-test-exporter.c and maybe it was that way that NO extension support was claimed but elementary support was inside the binary blob, I can't exactly remember anymore

I also never got it to work.
I was really hoping they would do one more Wayland release to bring it up on par with todays Wayland/gbm standards, without having to use stub files.
