use adafruit-ws2801 with UX4?

Unread postby kevkid » Sat Mar 03, 2018 2:04 am

Is there a way I can use this library with the UX4? I have some code I did with a raspberry pi and I would like to use it on the odroid because it has a faster CPU.

Library: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-WS2801-Library

No. There is no such time-accurate GPIO toggling capability in XU4 to emulate the SPI/PWM at this moment.
Someone need to develop a special MEMORY-to-GPIO DMA driver to implement it. But we no resources to make it.

Okay, Thanks! Would it be possible for you to point me in the right direction as to where I can learn more about this?

Do you have any experience with low-level Linux Kernel device driver development?
If yes, look into our kernel source in the GitHub to find the DMA and GPIO drivers.
This is a good example how we trace and fix a bug.
