Is SSHD are compatible with HC1/UX4 ?

Unread postby lakano » Wed Sep 13, 2017 8:19 pm

Hi !

I would like to buy a SSHD (Hybrid-HDD), the Seagate FireCuda 2 To.
It's require 1.0A and 5V, and I have a PSU of 5V.
( model ST2000LX001 - http://www.seagate.com/www-content/prod ... 02299e.pdf )

Do you think it's compatible with HC1 ?

Thanks for your advices! :)

EDIT: My PSU is a 5V/4A delivered by AmeriDroid with the HC1.

it should be ok although if you run into bother i would go for a 30 watt supply..i.e 6 amp supply..
the drive has an inrush current of 1 amp so the standard supply may not keep up

a hybrid drive has both ram and motor to drive ..
4.9.xx.xx XU3-LITE and U-2

Hi !
I've received my SSHD, and there is something wrong, this not boot entirely, I listen the noize of the sshd, and few seconds later it stop, and I can't ssh to the board ( I doesn't have the debug module to see what's happening exactly )

Currently I have the PSU sent by AmeriDroid ( 5V/4A EU ).
When I see the Watts measurements of the HC1 ( http://com.odroid.com/sigong/blog/blog_list.php?bid=189 ), there is only a peak at 15W/3A on booting.
My SSHD drive only require a 5V/1A, 1.7W writing, 1.6W reading, idle 0.5W.
So, if I understood, my current PSU *should* works with the HC1 + SSHD, no ?

I can buy a new PSU, but I would just be sure to buy it and if this doesn't works again...
Do I really need a 30W / 6A as you've suggested @phaseshifter ?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Did you buy 2TB SSHD?
We will try to get one here to test it even I think 5V/4A should be fine.

How is the blue LED? Can you access the SSH console?

I am using a 2 TB Seagate FireCuda ST2000LX001 with HC1, and it works like a charm.
