Hi all! What's the default SSH credentials? odroid/odroid doesn't seem to work for me.

Oh, it's just root with odroid for password.

I've just got my XU4 and this image was my 1st choice to test.

I've setup everything like I want and the system is running fine so far, BUT

I've connected two HDD's (they have there own power) with USB 3.0 and share them via network.

I can read from the network share with up to 80 MB/s but If I write something over the network, 9 MB/s is the best what I can get out.

Where is the problem? On my Odroid-C1 I had better wirte speeds (16 MB/s) and Read and Write where nearly the same.
I've updated mainly because of the Network Speeds.

Any Idea? There are no other USB devices connected, the server runs headless

I got the Odroid-XU4. When I first open it the 1st thing I noticed is how small it is.

Love how all the ports are full size. USB 3.0 and HDMI.

Installed the server on a eMMC 64GB and it booted right up fast. I set the root password first. "passwd root".

Looks like it don't use the full 64GB I did this but it must be wrong to resize it to the full size.

Code: Select all
root@odroid-server:~# df -h
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mmcblk0p2  3.1G  743M  2.2G  26% /
none            4.0K     0  4.0K   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
udev            745M  4.0K  745M   1% /dev
tmpfs           200M  292K  199M   1% /run
none            5.0M     0  5.0M   0% /run/lock
none            996M     0  996M   0% /run/shm
none            100M     0  100M   0% /run/user
/dev/mmcblk0p1  100M  5.2M   95M   6% /media/boot
root@odroid-server:~# resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0
resize2fs 1.42.9 (4-Feb-2014)
resize2fs: Device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/mmcblk0
Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.
root@odroid-server:~# resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0p2
resize2fs 1.42.9 (4-Feb-2014)
The filesystem is already 800256 blocks long.  Nothing to do!

root@odroid-server:~#

How would I resize it to the full 64GB?

All so the "Getting Started with ODROID-XU4" paper that came with mine. I like to download a PDF of that. Is there a link to one. It's little and would be nice to read it on a computer zooming in how you want.

Thank you for the XU4. It seems to be working super good very happy I have it. Thanks for the Ubuntu server code too.

That is very good and easy. I did "odroid-utility.sh" I pick "4 Resize your root partition" and reboot and it worked.

Code: Select all
root@odroid-server:~# df -h
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mmcblk0p2   58G  756M   55G   2% /
none            4.0K     0  4.0K   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
udev            745M  4.0K  745M   1% /dev
tmpfs           200M  280K  199M   1% /run
none            5.0M  4.0K  5.0M   1% /run/lock
none            996M     0  996M   0% /run/shm
none            100M     0  100M   0% /run/user
/dev/mmcblk0p1  100M  5.2M   95M   6% /media/boot
root@odroid-server:~#

Says 58G now. Was 3.1G before.

Thank you.

Just scanned it to a .jpg. Easy to see now. To bad I did not do that first because the photos in there show going to the Odroid Utility.

I thought the Getting Started with Odroid-XU4 was made for a PDF in the first place. If you don't have one I don't know what you made that paper with.

Wow thank you. Super good pdf file just looks like the paper that came with the Odroid-XU4. But can now read it real good by zooming in to it.

The Odroid-XU4 seems very good. Seem like for the best price too.

Maybe you should see if you can make a even better one with Intel Atom Processor Z3735F CPUs. I got one of there's too got the one that comes with Windows 8.1 with bing. I backed it up and got Ubuntu 14.04 on it now. What I don't like it only has 1 USB 2.0 on it. But if you could put like 1000Mbps Ethernet port and USB 3.0 on it would be super. They have a fan in it too and it can come on but very low sound. I guess you are the guys that can make it better.

It's junk that Intel only put 8 GB eMMC for Ubuntu. It fills the rest up fast. They have a restore partition on it so no much left. That why I got the one with 32GB.

Is it difficult to set that up, or should I just start from the non-server image?

I based my robotics images off of server, but now I need OpenCL/OpenGL. More specifically I should ask if I should try to update my robotics image or start on a new one with the desktop version as a base?

Thanks for your reply.

I am used to installing AMD Radeon drivers on Linux Mint to get OpenGL and OpenCL support........

Since the ODROID-XU4 doesn't use AMD graphics chips; how do I go about installing OpenCL drivers on Ubuntu Server 14.04.3 LTS ?

I must be missing something here, maybe you can explain...

Why can't you download and install the Mali drivers for ODROID-XU3 from the website below?

http://malideveloper.arm.com/resources/ ... e-drivers/

I tried this, put all of the files (libOpenGL.so, libMali.so, etc) in the /usr/lib directory, ran ldconfig, etc. I still get the MESA driver selected when I run glmark2-es2, and a "Creating an OpenCL context failed" message after compiling / running the OpenCL SDK examples.

I will give up and move on to Ubuntu 15.04 if I have to, but I would at least like to understand what the limitation is.

Thanks and please excuse my persistence :P

there is no limitation, you just have to build armsoc ddx, and install the mali drivers in the right path. this is not /usr/lib :) easiest, try overwriting mesa. or use LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

OK, I wasn't doing anything with DDX. I'll mess around with this a little bit more before I give up :)

Thanks for the suggestion!

since we have an arm device the folder /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/ is preferred over /usr/lib... first it looks into /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/ and only if it doesn't find any drivers there it goes to /usr/lib...
So the Mesa libraries are loaded before your libraries in /usr/lib/ are loaded.

Well, I sort of got it to work...

I can run the SDK examples successfully now using your tip and by taking a closer look at mdrjr's update script. glmark2-es2 still fails, but oh well.

After all that, I ran into a different issue. I'm just going to switch to 15.04 for my new robotics image :)

Thanks for your help!

Create a new topic.. and start by describing how you are testing HDMI audio.
