Date always resets to 11 Feb 2016 on Odroid XU4

Unread postby pavanshetty » Fri May 19, 2017 7:54 pm

Every time I start my Odroid XU4 running Ubuntu Mate, the date seems to be 11th Feb 2016 17:28 for some reason. timedatectl command shows the below result. RTC battery is an option but since I have WiFi connected and in the settings "Sync date with internet servers" selected shouldn't it update after few seconds after the boot. Any sugestions?
Thanks
Code: Select all
Network time on: yes
NTP synchronized: yes
RTC in local TZ: no

The system needs a network connection before it can connect to a NTP server to get the correct date and time. WiFi connections typically do not connect unless you log-in to the desktop. This is because they require a password. Try setting your WiFi connection to "All users may connect to this network" in the "General" tab of the configuration.

I just verified on my XU4, when using WiFI, the date is initially as stated. Since the network is not available at boot time, this is expected. After a period of time, the correct date/time is set. My WiFi setting is as described before ("All users may connect ot this network") and additionally has "Automatically connect to this network when its available".
