HDMI Issue with Samsung Smart TVs (CM 12.1)

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue with the ODroid XU4's running CM 12.1 and a Samsung Smart TV (Samsung 40 Smart Led TV Un40h5103afxzp). The issue ioccurs that when the device is running and the TV is turned off. After turning the TV back on, there will be no signal on the TV until the device is rebooted or until the HDMI cable is unplugged and plugged in again. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks!

Did you meet the same issue with Android 4.4.4 v 3.6 image?

Hi,

I face the same issue (also with a Samsung TV) but I have a C2 device updated to the latest Android image (1.7). Any hints on how to solve this?

Change the HPD option in the boot.ini file and let us know the result.

Have you changed to true or false? I'm suffering the same problem. Can you also share the Cec setting in your boot.ini?

If you use Android, the default value is setenv disablehpd "false". So you need to change it to "true".

does this setting differ between XU4 and C2?

In the XU4 boot ini there is no

Changing this to 0 should solve the problem?

The screen just went black, although hpd="0" was set.

We have an older device here, which does not show the problem:

It is running build odroidxu3-eng 4.4 KTU84Q eng.jenkins.20151125.111037 and kernel 3.10.9-ge59b36c jenkins@build #34 from WED Nov 25 11:09:32 KST 2015

I think this was Version 3.2 - the problem must be introduced at sometime from then on.

We've connected an XU4 to a TV with our latest Android v3.9 since 20 hours ago.
We will keep checking it by this Friday afternoon to reproduce the issue.

We "fixed" this by rebooting the devices automatically once a day, but this is weird.

We had run the test for a few days but there was no issue.
We couldn't reproduce the issue.

One question on your logcat in this post ( http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 60#p152134 ).
Was this time stamp in the booting process period? or once the TV screen went black?

it was from the screen going black. Device uptime was a few days then.

1. Download update.zip and md5sum here

3. Run ODROID Updater
Validate file -> Extract -> Restart for update.

4. Run Settings
Developer options -> Stay awake check

5. Never turn off screen.

I finally found a way to reproduce the issue, the screen goes off after exactly 604800000 milisecons which is one week.
The setting comes from screen_off_timeout in the system settings. Changing it to e.g. 180000 let's the screen go off after three minues.
This is independent from hpd-settings and also from stay awake setting.
I testet with build 3.4 and 3.9, both versions resulted in a black screen.
Build 3.1 does not turn off the screen, as well as the test-build you provided - seems you fixed it!

C2 already enabled the AC input detection.
So just use "Developer options -> Stay awake check" option to keep it on.
