In market lot of CSR 4.0 cheap clones which does not have a BLE functionality. Devices without BLE can't work on Android.
I will check USB audio input and let you know. BTW please show me output of this command when your sound card is connected.

So your VPN is working 2-3 hrs then system crash ? I don't think this an Ethernet issue.
Please explain little more what you mean Ethernet tethering ?

My guess is the Ethernet port supplies unencrypted internet access but to get encryption, he uses an app that encrypts the signals from a WiFi dongle to send over the Ethernet to provide encrypted VPN. I understand that much.

What I don't understand is why Android is necessary to do it instead of a more standard Linux hookup.

Nope, device 3 is a Odroid internal touch screen. odroid-ts.
BTW Let's try manually add it.
first run this command on adb shell

Code: Select all

echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbhid/new_id
then check is your controller appears via getevent -lp command
The name should be like this [ShanWan Twin USB Joystick]
if your gamepad appears on list then check is it working ? is the keymappings is correct ?

@voodik,

I have gamepad with USB signal head but my device Odroid XU4 with andorod 9 didn't recognize the gamepad, I tested this gamepad on Samsung s10 Plus phone and it works fine. Please help me. Thank you!
post USB vid/pid of your gamepad.
Thank you for your reply, sorry I have an emergency so I didn't check your messages soon. My gamepad VID & PID is VID_2563&PID_0555
Dear @voodik,

I know you are very busy but if you have time please help me. I bought 1 usb bluetooth CSR 4.0 dongle and i also enabled bluetooth in Odroid Utility -> Misc but it seems everytime i turn on bluetooth to search for bluetooth device but it turns off and i cant find bluetooth headset mine to connect, I tested with a laptop using windows 10 (driver installed of course) and it worked fine (note: I disabled bluetooth on laptop to use usb bluetooth). In addition, I also have a microphone error on the USB sound card that has the function of outputting the audio jack and the microphone jack, the sound output from the usb sound card is very good but I do not receive the mic signal I tried the usb sound card for laptop and phone it worked fine for audio jack and mic. Note: I am using android 9 with Odroid XU4.

Thanks for your help!
In market lot of CSR 4.0 cheap clones which does not have a BLE functionality. Devices without BLE can't work on Android.
I will check USB audio input and let you know. BTW please show me output of this command when your sound card is connected.

Code: Select all

dumpsys media.audio_policy
Thank you for the info about usb bluetooth which requires BLE, but if i buy bluetooth usb with BLE support will my odroid XU4 accept bluetooth device?
About usb sound card please see attached picture. I have connected the usb sound card and executed the command dumpsys media.audio_policy or adb dumpsys media.audio_policy but both failed. Can you guide me more specifically how to do this command. Thanks!

@voodik,

Can you check is your gamepad is listed in event device list ?

Code: Select all

adb shell
getevent -lp
You can see in the attached picture, the odroid received the usb gamepad and also received my touch screen
I don't see any gamepad in screenshot.
Device 3 is usb gamepad
Nope, device 3 is a Odroid internal touch screen. odroid-ts.
BTW Let's try manually add it.
first run this command on adb shell

Code: Select all

echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbhid/new_id
then check is your controller appears via getevent -lp command
The name should be like this [ShanWan Twin USB Joystick]
if your gamepad appears on list then check is it working ? is the keymappings is correct ?
You can see below, It didn't show usb gamepad.

Code: Select all

D:\Software\ADB>adb connect 192.168.31.101:5555

But I used Mantis gampad pro software to map keys on android, it doesn't detect it outside but the keymap item shows a sign for the appearance of my gampad usb (attached picture) but I have no way to select it to map like on Samsung S10 plus phone also with this software

So your VPN is working 2-3 hrs then system crash ? I don't think this an Ethernet issue.
Please explain little more what you mean Ethernet tethering ?

There was a lot of logspam about vendor.cec-hal-1-0, it could be reason of device crash. i will check.

try this

Code: Select all

echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/hid/drivers/hid-generic/new_id
or both together

Code: Select all

echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbhid/new_id
echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/hid/drivers/hid-generic/new_id
or this

Code: Select all

echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/hid/drivers/hid-generic/new_id
echo '2563 0555' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbhid/new_id
in every case check via getevent -lp command is the device appears or no.

I can't debug third party apps. Some research in google shows this device should be work as standard hid input device.

this is nothing but sharing the internet connection via ethernet.. (instead of wifi hotpsot, USB or Bluetooth)

@voodik,

Dear @voodik,
I have a question and am waiting for your reply
"Thank you for the info about usb bluetooth which requires BLE, but if i buy bluetooth usb with BLE support will my odroid XU4 accept bluetooth device? specifically on your android 9 build for Odoird XU4"

I was referencing similar product with this device but stopped selling on hardkernel (https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/bluetooth-module-2/) and I am also using wifi usb which supports 2 bands 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz so i just need to add usb bluetooth. And I found a USB with BLE on an e-commerce site with a Qualcomm CSR8510 chip and it's verified Bluetooth v4.0. I would like to consult you if you can use this bluetooth usb before buying. Thank you!

Code: Select all

Product Features
* Ultra-compact, easy carrying and space saving.

* Experience stereo audio with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and AVRCP support.

* Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol support.

* Up to 3 Mbps data transfer rate with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) support.

* Backward support>
