@voodik: Very nice work !!

I have a problem regarding the usage of an USB-GPS on Lineage-OS. I can communicate with by "cat /dev/ttyUSB0", so driver is working, but the system do not get any position data. Aps like GPStest also do not get anything.

From "logcat | grep gps" i know that the GNSS service do not find /dev/ttyUSB0..

What can i do to get this running?
By the way: Should the gps-driver also work with the ttySAC0 UART?

Thanks and regards

Hi,

1. Please enable root, setup adb over network or enable/install some terminal app.
2. Disconnect all USB devices, make clean boot, run lsusb command on terminal/adb shell and save result,
3. Connect your USB hub and run, lsusb, dmesg, logcat commands and save results.
4. Post somewhere results and let me know.
Thanks voodik, will try to get it uploaded soon.
Got adb over ethernet sorted and can run the first lsusb, but the moment I plug the hub in, the connection is terminated and the green ethernet light turns on and starts blinking. Any idea why it's disconnecting?

You need edit /system/build.prop and set proper tty node and speed
change this lines
Code: Select all
ro.kernel.android.gps=ttyACM0
ro.kernel.android.gps.speed=9600

@qxtgo

So if you need Gaapps,
please create "opengapps.xml" file in ".repo/local_manifests" folther with this content
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<manifest>
<remote name="opengapps" fetch="https://github.com/opengapps/"  />

<project path="vendor/opengapps/build" name="aosp_build" revision="master" remote="opengapps" />
<project path="vendor/opengapps/sources/all" name="all" clone-depth="1" revision="master" remote="opengapps" />
<project path="vendor/opengapps/sources/arm" name="arm" clone-depth="1" revision="master" remote="opengapps" />
</manifest>

and run repo sync again.

if you don't need Gapps,
remove device/hardkerne;/odroidxu3/opengapps.mk file
and comment/remove this

@voodik

Hi,
1. first build, successful, but after applying the update.zip to the device with your last build it stucks after booting in a loop, see below...
Am I missing something?

2. When building with opengapps and an install from the resulting image, it booted but stuck at a point within the setup wizard where it asked for inserting a sim card.

Do I really get your build which generates the images you deliver when I do a repo sync or force-sync?
Something must be wrong anywhere....

Should I drop everything and do a clean start with repo init -u git://github.com/voodik/android.git -b cm-14.1_5422 ?

Hi voodik,
Thanks, but I can't install this update. Odroid updater crashes when extracting. All md5 files are ok and I tried with a clean flash of the rom first, but still can't update.
Any ideas?

Thanks, but I can't install this update. Odroid updater crashes when extracting. All md5 files are ok and I tried with a clean flash of the rom first, but still can't update.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi,
1. first build, successful, but after applying the update.zip to the device with your last build it stucks after booting in a loop, see below...

Can you run logcat on serial and try to understand which service crashing whole system?

tonight I will generate a complete serial log starting with applying my update.zip, ending with the crashing loop and put it into a dropbox.

perhaps we find out what's going wrong.

Im running the Alpha-0.9 build on an xu4 as a car headunit. Rom is working fine but I'm having trouble getting it to work with my powered usb3 hub (Orico H10C1-U3).

I'm getting a string of "UsbHostManager JNI: usb_device_open failed" errors (log attached from a previous install with the same errors) and getting strange behaviour from the usb devices attached (phantom button presses on the usb touch screen, usb gps not being recognised etc).

Sometimes a couple of restarts will get the gps working but it will fail again next restart. Tested it with all combinations of usb devices with no improvement. Tried a clean install but error persists.

I am now using a cheap non-powered 4 port usb 2 hub attached to the same xu4 usb 3 port and everything is fine, so it's not a problem with the peripherals themselves. Is there anything I can try to get the hub working, or is it simply not compatible with the xu4?

Cheers

Hi,

Cheers

Awesome, that worked and it seems to have (mostly) fixed the issue! Thanks! What did you change?

I'm still having one related problem though, in that the odroid gps module sometimes won't be recognised by apps (google maps, GPS test etc) when plugged into the hub. After a few restarts it will randomly be recognised again and work fine.

Running Cat /dev/ttyACM0 in terminal when it's down still shows nmea data being read so the module itself is working but it's not being registered by apps for some reason.

Hi all. I am thinking of getting new sd card and using it for android on my XU4. It's not a very complicated set build: just the board, a case and PSU. Are there any stability issues with LineageOS and the XU4? What about play store compatibility for movies and video? The reason I ask is that I had LineageOS on my Nexus 7 2013 for a bit but had to remove it because I couldn't watch movies from some apps and the tablet kept locking up and then rebooting.

Thanks,

lazlo

You posted everything but not logcat output ;)
BTW
Your build has no problem, i successfully installed it , you just need select "Format userdata" when updating from lineage-14.1-alpha-1.0 version.
Also i suggest you run "repo sync --force-sync"
then again build android.
I fixed some issues in according OdroidUpdater and setupwizard.

P.S.
Now i merging whole tree with latest sources. so if you not sleeping please wait 4-5 hours before run repo sync

Success :D

did several test builds and checked them on my testdevice.
finally I updated my headunit controller, worked w/o "Format userdata"

changed some properties and settings, boot time now ~20 sec instead of ~50 sec
enabled the CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_CH341=m, but I have to load the kernel module manually before use. Have to discover where to change this..

hope all the changes ( primary the build.prop and default.prob) are correct, but everything works as expected.

changes summary:

next steps would be
-i2s connection to my monkeyboard, asked hk in annother post, hope this advances.
-sleep(suspend to disk) mode as I asked in any former post.
-find out where to set the initial 1024x600 from my VU7+ for a fresh install so the buttons of the setup wizard do not appear off screen, cause at this time a boot.ini doesnt yet exist.

Hi lazlo,

I use it as headunit controller in my car with Navigation, DAB/FM, Audio Player, VU7+ as Display.
A second Testdevice also works with TV and Keyboard/Mouse, wireless and wired.
Playstore and all my Apps work as expected stable.
Videos and Movies also.
WLan ist a problem, I have issues, even with the original HC Wlan Adapters. It often doesn't auto connect to my stored wlans, sometimes it drops the connection.
Also only a limited number of chipsets are enabled.

But I think you should use emmc instead of a sd-card...

Just give it a try.

Hi Voodik,

Is it possible to move all partitions from a sd-card to an usb-stick leaving only the boot partition on the sd-card?
My sd-card is a bit to slow and buying an emmc module is at the moment no option for me...

How can I autostart custom bash scripts? Is init.d working?
Under odroids android 4.4.4 it was possible, but an additional app (Universal init.d) had to be installed.

For anyone interested, Hulu video playback does work correctly as of LineageOS version 14.1-20170611-UNOFFICIAL-odroidxu3 as long as the Hulu app version is < 3.0. I have Hulu version 2.28.0.223111 installed, and it has been working great.
