Make an external button for home

Unread postby Newfrequency » Mon Feb 06, 2017 5:08 am

My family has decided to make a second touch table with a few upgrades. Like capacitive touch panel rather than IR, removing the power strip and splicing each powered device and attaching it to a fuse block, improving the look of table, and finally adding a home button in the middle.
Any chance you guys can give me a few pointers on where to begin?

Your need to be looking at information for driving input from gpio on Android, @voodik and another forum member have done this.

All the information is here on the forum, just have to locate it.

I found an application that let's you do button mapping. I mapped home to f1 on my keyboard. It worked . But when I get a USB button I have to map it to button_1 any idea how to do that?

I didn't know you would be using USB input, this makes things easier I suppose.

What is the function of button_1?

The remap application you're referring to, what is it called?

Im at work atm I forget the name of it.
I would still need to bind the usb button to a selected key. Which may require some coding.

Hi there!

I think this link helps to you.

This example is applied to Odroid-C2, but it can be applied your case.

And, attached kernel patch file can be more useful to you.

I hope this will help you.
