USB3.0 5V output

Post by schan117 » Sat May 23, 2020 1:36 am

Is it possible for me to manually provide 5V to the 5V line on the USB3.0 connector to boost the current rating of the USB3.0 ports on the XU4? I really want to skip a hub in between. Thanks!

The problem is high current makes the voltage drop. If you inject 5V + GND from an external power supply you may have problems because of voltage/gnd differences between the data lines and usb power.
The official 5V/6A psu should be ok for bigger usb loads.

Which devices do you want to connect to XU4?
